Pulsar 12 000W Dual Fuel Portable Generator in Space Gray with Electric Start G12KBN In a nutshell the Pulsar G12KBN is a powerful portable generator mostly geared towards: - Prudent homeowners who want a backup power source in case of a power outage - Homeowners who want to be sure of their ability to power their fridges cooking tools heating and lighting equipment during power failures - RV travellers looking for even more independence POWER & RUN TIME - The dual-fuel technology of the Pulsar G12KBN allows for an output of 120/240V and provides superb power and versatility. If gasoline-powered the device provides a running wattage of 9 500W and a starting wattage of 12 000W. - If propane-powered it gives 8 550 rated watts and 10 800 starting watts. - Enjoying a noise rating of 74 dBA (just slightly more noisy than a dishwasher) this generator can be started thanks to a conventional pull-start mechanism but also to a simple and elegant electric starter (battery included). - The G12KBN with a fuel capacity of 8 gallons reaches a run time of around 12 hours at 50% load utilizing gasoline (fuel consumption around 0.67 GPH). - Alternatively it can reach a run time of around 5 hours (estimation based on a 20 lbs tank - propane consumption around 0.94 GPH) with propane. OUTLETS The control panel includes the following 6 AC outlets: - Two Duplexes 120V 20A (5-20R) - 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) receptacle - 120/240V 50A (14-50R) receptacle It also sports 1 DC outlet: there s a 12V 8A output with which charging your batteries is made easy. If you own an RV with a 50-amp service you can consider this Pulsar unit as RV-ready as it features a 14-50R outlet. In addition as the G12KBN holds a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle it is transfer switch ready: you ll easily be able to connect it to your breaker box to power your home during a power outage. PORTABILITY The Pulsar G12KBN has the following dimensions: L28.5 x W21.8 x H22.2 in. In combination with its conventional open frame design they provide support and allow the generator to be raised above ground level. The device has been designed for tough environments and demanding outdoor use. Since the generator weighs 209 lbs it will be incredibly difficult to manually lift it and transport it even though it is technically considered to be portable (in the sense that it is movable). However this lack of maneuverability is compensated by its wheel kit (⌀10 ) and its folding handle with which you can conveniently shift it once it s on the ground. FEATURES |

Sensitive electronics like specialized medical equipment demand "clean power", but they generally have built in power conditioners so even these are OK for the several hours/couple days you'd be running off emergency power.
Unless you have grandpa in your house on an iron lung or you are going off the grid or living out of an RV and getting 100% of your power from a generator, then THD is not a real-world problem you will experience.
It really is nothing more than a selling point on the more expensive inverter generators. Those inverter generators have other (actual) benefits, but THD doesn't really matter in real life applications.

I believe some of the Powerhorse models claim lower THD on a non-inverter generator, not sure if they're a good brand though. Also GenMax has a tri-fuel inverter that is going up to 10500 surge watts releasing this summer, in case 9500 surge watts isn't enough for you. It'll probably be $2500-3000 though…
You can see a video with the new tri-fuel GenMax on Gavin's Garage YouTube channel
