People saying this isn't a deal are dumb. The only airline offering a better price is ZIP Air (JAL's LCC spinoff) who have a $625 fare available for one brief 5 day window at the end of October, and once you pay for the cardboard meal they serve (because they don't offer a free one on a 12 hour flight) and add a checked bag both ways, it will definitely be more expensive than this.

Singapore Air is a gold standard airline, you'll get decent food, a baggage allowance, and you even get free drinks in economy. There's no comparison here.
Agree, this is the low-side of normal
While not the $500 it cost in 2018 this is still a good deal considering the Japanese Yen to dollar has gone down 20% since then which means things when you're there should be cheaper

No seat selection? Has Singapore airline always been like this for standard economy?

Am I misreading? It says the economy fare includes seat selection, but the last sentence says it does not.

Can I transfer my Chase UR points to pay for this? This is my first trip and not sure how the points transfer would work.

It was actually good. I just didn't like the extra costs you add and you lose the savings that way. I had made a shopping trip so I had two check in bags to take back to LA. This deal pretty much negates any problems of having extra baggage since it comes with 2 free check in bags. I had flown with Singapore Airlines back in 2019 to Japan when they had a deal on their app for $550. I am taking the $680 price as an inflation price so I think this is a decent deal.

Singapore Airlines is one of their travel partners. I don't see why not.
