Other models' prices dropped too.

Model 3 dropped $1000 BUT the $7500 tax credit is going away, so not really a price drop unless you have cash to buy one before April 18

For people who don't qualify for rebate, that is a real drop

Sure, if you have $48,000 in cash laying around and can buy next week. I personally would go with the bolt. It's almost $20k cheaper and pretty much the same car.
No doubt Bolt is a real value for money. And I've had 2 bolts in past.
But it's not "pretty much the same car", when compared to Tesla. But everyone can have their own opinion.
And why 100% cash, that's good enough time to get approved from Tesla finance and then re finance later

Tesla nickels and dimes you. You have to pay for mobile charger, charger installation, non-refundable order fee, extra delivery fee, etc. It adds up. Chevy doesn't make you pay for any of that.

Didn't those things spontaneously combust?

Yes, they give you free installation of NEMA14-50 outlet. Also, the Tesla charger only works on Tesla unless you pay extra $$$ for an adapter to use on other cars.
