The president of the company I worked for drove a volt… so you're just plain wrong. We only did hundreds of million of dollars in top line revenue annually though, so pretty small I guess.

Bosses don't drive their best cars to work…. You never been a boss have you?

I heard that they're not even trying to collect the rainwater they get in California and that most of it is lost?

Jesus Christ, how much worse does it get there in that clown show state?
It's so much of a clown state that most prestigious universities are located there. Real estate is valuable. Rich people flock there.. the list goes on and on.

Of course, if you don't value those things you can go live in the middle nowhere Nebraska or Iowa.

Paying for gas on my beater is cheaper than the insurance premiums.

1. Rich people= prestigious universities, riding on a reputation that may have been deserved in the past but not in recent decades. I've been to one, many are very corrupt and just poach bright students from smaller colleges and overseas to boost their present reputation? Went to undergrad at their school? They want nothing to do with you, lol.

2. Rich people= valuable real estate. I'm not rich, I'm not living there. Also, the state is in decline, do you want to be caught holding the bag when no one wants to pay to live there anymore?

See Illinois!

3. Happily and I'll love it in Nebraska or Iowa.

What are you talking about?

A real boss gets driven to work, LOL.

This mythical boss who drives their beater to work because that's all they have or they're trying to prove a point is rare and far between. Most rich people who try to claim they're down to Earth are lying for the PR points. See SBF from FTX, LOL.

Seems to me that real estate continues to increase in value. Those who can't afford it move out of the state and attempt to bash the state on forums such as slickdeals, Lol.

Lol Oklahoma. I heard that's where inbreeding occur. Lots of obese people as well. Sorry Oklahoma is third world.
Guess you have not visited the Bay Area or SF as we have a very serious mess here. Companies left and leaving. Crime in Oakland/SF is off the chart. Look at the recent murders. Very sad and so predictible with Newsom and Bonta letting the thugs free to steal, loot, car jack, etc. Commercial RE is expected to hit 40% vacancy by years end and Coldwell Banker says The City is now at 34%. Dems opened the door wide for the Trumpster. Even Nancy and hubby are moving as I saw a RE for sale sign on their house in Pac Heights.

these chevy bolts sound terrible. 247 miles nominal fake govt range. except chevy says dont charge them past 80%. and then with cold this YT guy who owns one says expect about 150 miles range in a colder climate. which range gets even worse he says when you use climate control (heat/AC) heavily. Nice feature of EV's, guess the gubt again chose not to mention it. Then an article say expect 10-40% battery degradation in the 8 years it's under warranty (chevy warranty guidelines). So that mean within 8 years if it's cold it might be getting 100 miles range, or not even enough to maker it from my house to DFW which is kinda my litmus test. Yikes. Once it gets to 15 years old like my ice (a 2008) who even know what the range might be. But it seems likely the battery would be long gone at a $16,000 (!) replacement cost, although the article claims that should come down to "only" $6000+ in the coming years. Grain of salt on that one I'd say. Though too be fair if it ever does come to 6k thats similar to an ice engine replacement cost.

Meanwhile my 2008 ICE (that I bought in 2013 with ~30k miles for $8500, and is still worth 4k, so 4500 cost to drive ten years and counting) w 152k miles purrs like a champ with no major repairs. And gets about 20.5 mpg with a ~17 gallon tank, so upwards of 340 miles REAL range that isn't affected by the cold or climate controls (much anyway) and then once that range is up it takes 5 minutes to refuel. the real problem with ev's isn't the range, it's the brutal recharge time. which is minimum 45 minutes in the real world i think.

https://www.sfchronicle.com/sf/ar...505053.php It's even worse than the article states. When you see commercial RE signs in the Wharf area, you know the State is in trouble. Ridership on BART and both ferry systems are way off.

not sure where $.26 per KwH is but most areas are more costly than that.

In socal (SCE areas), we only get that rate using TOU PRIME, where you must own an EV. However, peak hour charge is over double that. So it's not really 26 cents

Looking at the estimator in the app, i'm only saving $40-50 per month using 26 cent or 40 cent per KwH chargers vs gas.. so in 1 year, i'm saving a max of $600......

they already announced energy prices will go up, pretty much in perpetuity, so the "refueling" cost advantage will erode over time

also if you're comparing to higher mileage economy cars, also take into consideration the price of 19-22" performance tires vs 16-17" economy/all season tires.... it's often half or less the cost every 3 or so years...
I am not from SoCal, so I just used google. The Data could be out of date. Also, I am assuming that people with homes would charge on off peak hours.

But people who have to charge at a super charger, I would assume will charge on their way to or from work(peak hours).

Insurance is comparable to an equivalent ICE vehicle if you shop the right provider.
