Meanwhile my 2008 ICE (that I bought in 2013 with ~30k miles for $8500, and is still worth 4k, so 4500 cost to drive ten years and counting) w 152k miles purrs like a champ with no major repairs. And gets about 20.5 mpg with a ~17 gallon tank, so upwards of 340 miles REAL range that isn't affected by the cold or climate controls (much anyway) and then once that range is up it takes 5 minutes to refuel. the real problem with ev's isn't the range, it's the brutal recharge time. which is minimum 45 minutes in the real world i think.

I'm ok with that overall though -
In socal (SCE areas), we only get that rate using TOU PRIME, where you must own an EV. However, peak hour charge is over double that. So it's not really 26 cents
Looking at the estimator in the app, i'm only saving $40-50 per month using 26 cent or 40 cent per KwH chargers vs gas.. so in 1 year, i'm saving a max of $600......
they already announced energy prices will go up, pretty much in perpetuity, so the "refueling" cost advantage will erode over time
also if you're comparing to higher mileage economy cars, also take into consideration the price of 19-22" performance tires vs 16-17" economy/all season tires.... it's often half or less the cost every 3 or so years...
But people who have to charge at a super charger, I would assume will charge on their way to or from work(peak hours).
