I do watch repair. Handled a few Certinas. They've always been a solid watch. This seems like a super great price for something like this. Looks like it might be a great option for various NATO straps too. from me. 👍

An inverted Rolex Explorer design...
Love the aesthethics.
Basic powermatic 80 auto movt. (lowest grade ETA C07.111, but heck it will work just fine)
100M water resistant is great... doesnt day if the crwon is screw down, but looks like it. if it is, thats a win. Display case back is nice for aesthetically.

The case back isnt a screw back.... would have been great if it was.

All in all an awesome go anywhere do anything beater automatic.

Theres no reason to ever repair this thing once is useful life is over unless for some strong sentimental reason. Movt is literally disposable. Swatch themselves replace the movements when ever a Tissot, Certina, Mido etc etc go in for repairs.

Im not knocking these, i use them myself, they look great, and built incredibly well, and when bought on the gray market for well less than the asking MSRP, they are a great value proposition.

I would personally look for something with a screw dwon crown and a screw back... but thats just splitting hairs.

Certina is know for their double security against tumbles and spills.. real world use. Hence the DS moniker.

not any first had experience with that one. But, other rados yes. Love their stuff too.
Thank you for the feedback. Im looking for a gradation gift for myself and this Rado Golden Horse 37 mm speaks to me. With a small wrist (a tad under 6 inch), this seems to fit well, with lug-to-lug of only about 44 mm. We'll see. This deal is tempting as well, but it might be a tad too big for me at 38 mm.

Nothing because it's relatively unknown as far as swatch group watches go 😎

In this price range, I would stay with a Seiko Presage.
Seikos are fine and all but that's like an overplayed watch. Everyone's got one. Certina build quality is just as good if not better. The ETA-2824 movement is a tried and true workhorse and is better than the 6R15 found in most Seikos (in my opinion). Also Certina gives you sapphire while Seiko gives you inferior hardlex crystal. In either case, can't go wrong with either brand but Certina's the more uncommon of the two and at this price it's a steal.

A Certina watch with the Powermatic 80 movement for only $258 is a real terrific deal. I just noticed it is already sold out. I don't know why they have to polish the center links. That is the same problem with the Tissot Gentlemen. I like the look of this Certina watch but not so much the cheap looking bracelet.

I have bought a few watches from Jomashop and I haven't been disappointed yet.(fingers crossed) I will say that if I was buying a luxury watch worth 1k or more, I would probably buy from an authorized dealer. This seems like a solid deal for a Swiss watch for $258. I would go for it if i wasn't trying to cut back on spending.
I would say, you got lucky. Jomashop is known for their bad customer service and dealer practice. The only thing going for them - the merchandise they sell is genuine. That's it.

I personally had 2 encounters (full me once kind of thing)... On one occasion, I received the Breitling chronograph from them that would not reset to 0. When trying to return, they promptly blamed me for bad handling and refused to accept a return. Luckily I bought via ebay who forced them to accept the return. Even then it took me almost a month to have them pay for return shipping.

On the other occasion, they sent me a Tissot with modified bracelet missing 2 links. Again - they tried to blame this on me and play a no-return game. This time I had to threaten to dispute with credit card, before they agreed to accept the return. And just like the last time I had to fight them on the return shipping.

Their customer service is rarely responding the the phone, so most communications, at least for me, were done via leaving a voicemail and them calling back. It feelds like they are running a bot farm here, so any message mentioning their bad practices gets TD immediately by multiple accounts. So do yourself a favor. Do you own research, and buy a vendor/seller, not a watch. I personally had good experience buying from Ashford. Many people were happy with WatchMaxx or WOW.

Like I said, so far so good with Joma. I believe you 100% what you say did happen, that's why I would think twice about buying from them for something very expensive. I also bought from Ashford and watchmaxx before and had good experiences too.
