I was taking my wheels off to do a brake bleed after my last tire rotation at costco, when I found one of them stuck. Had to take it to a shop to get the wheel bolts cut, where they found another lug stuck. I wasn't the one that dealt with the tire center after this happened, so maybe I could've gotten the repair cost back myself, but they apparently pointed to a statement written in their policy that evaded responsibility. either way, it's a pain to deal with snapped wheel bolts. I'm doing my tire rotations myself now, which is pretty annoying.
Also, I've had very good luck not having my wheels damaged. YMMV
I ended up going to Discount Tire since they had everything in stock.
I've heard Costco's tire center is a nightmare to deal with, especially when it comes time to make an appointment and the turn around time.
I did have an issue with the TPMS light coming on but it was pretty quickly resolved.

Paid $937.75 after $150 off in Jan 2022. It's been great so far. As others mentioned, highly recommend if in stock.

I'm still curious.
You say after but not whether it was the same day (immediately after), a week after, a month after, or how long after. These things make a difference in your case for obvious reasons. Easier to pin it on them the shorter the time that goes by.
FYI, those waivers and disclosures do not legally absolve them for damages they directly cause for negligence or things they do improperly. It is different if it is required for them to do their job and something just breaks.
Again, they have insurance for these issues. You should have them put you in touch with their insurance to file a claim unless it is so far in the past that it is useless. Best of luck if you can follow up!
Another way to go is to file with the State Atty General.
