YMMV - my local Walmart had Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Commercial Mix (North), 20 lb. On Rollback for $28.50.

Large mark-down but be aware half the weight is coating and a large portion is annual ryegrass.

Will 50lb of seed enough for 5000sq ft on brand new lawn? SE Michigan. Was searching for tall fescue grass seeds.

But after walking and checking, if I just do nothing, I will have the lawn covered with crab grass, weeds and you name. Thank the owner of neighboring property who got it on foreclosure, made renovations and rented with no weed removal. Not even a spray. He just hired someone to close mow it.

I dont know how I would be killing all those seeds waiting to hatch and then these. If I put the granules or roundup, will I be getting grass seeds grow?

No, if you use the weed killer and pre emergent, you want to wait at least 4-5 weeks before seeding. I would suggest seeding quickly and then attack the weeds after. Get the new grass going asap.

Don't even bother with this seed. Pure garbage. Get something actually good without weedy seeds. United seeds has a great selection.

Spend a little more for a better seed mix. This has an annual rye grass mix, not good especially for winter states since it might not grow back next year
