I personally enjoy Yoshi the best, but the objectively superior game is Luigi's Mansion.

I found it delightfully spooky.
My personal favorite is NSMB3dW+Bowser's Fury followed by NSMBUDx. I enjoyed Bowser's Fury more than Odyssey. NSMBU was one of my favorite Wii U games, and the best 2d Mario since World, the only one on par with the originals imo. I never liked any Yoshi game (outside of Yoshi's Cookie), nor Luigi's Mansion (admittedly haven't played 3). DKTF was fun, but the difficulty ramped up quickly.
If I could get them for $20, I'd buy all three (Yoshi, Luigi and DK) just to give them a shot.

Just to add an opinion. I loved odyssey and found 3D world to be a horrible port and incredibly boring
