I am sure you never used Apple TV before commenting this.
PS: I use Google TV myself.

OP, you should include "Apple TV 4K 128GB (3rd generation) - Wi-Fi + Ethernet" in the title to make the post more useful.

i ordered the same when it was launched from costco. Costco shipped it to me in a polybag via UPS. When it arrived ,packaging and box was soo beaten up as someone have thrown it from moon to earth. i returned it back. it took 2months to process return from costco. costco said it is sent to "station" they will look into the return.

so please check when you receive the item

Is there anything (beside Apple's walled garden features)which justifies the $50 bump in price over an on sale Roku Ultra? I don't mean to troll here, I just can't see anything which benefits me unless I'm all in on the Apple ecosystem (which I am not). Is there something about Roku which is measurably worse?

My house is wired for gigabit, I would be using the box for a bunch of regular streaming services and local/remote streaming in Plex. Nothing fancy, I just want something responsive, stable, and reliable.

The only thing I can think of would be using the Apple TV to stream Steam games from my PC using Moonlight or the SteamLink app. I'm pretty sure Roku doesn't support game controllers, so I suppose that would be an advantage to Apple. But I have a SteamLink box now and don't use it much as it is.
Owning a Shield, FireTV 4k, Roku TV, and a Google TV; I'll say the AppleTV is the top contender from a UI perspective. It's also a lot more streamlined if you're in the Apple world (phones/computers/home automation). The app library is considerably better on AppleTV if that is any consideration. There is also far less tracking and ads compared to a Roku.

But if the Roku is working and you don't have a compelling reason to switch I wouldn't worry about it.

This is a good price and I'm debating picking one up to move an older one to the workout room since I switched to Apple Fitness for guided workouts.

Very good price for Apple TV 4K 128GB (3rd generation) - Wi-Fi + Ethernet!!! This version 3rd has karaoke if interested.
Woah! Did not know this existed. Already have the 2nd gen and now considering this because of this feature. Not sure why they can't get it into 2nd gen but Apple will Apple...

Anyone know if the jailbreak community still actively updating? I haven't used Apple TV since the 2nd generation non-4K.

I apologize if this is a stupid question...If I have a Bravia OLED with the Google TV app system, is there any picture or sound benefit with AppleTV that I wouldn't get going through the TV's app system? Or is it all just the ease of use that sets this apart? (Again, apologies if dumb question.)

The only thing that is better or matches it is the nvidia shield pro

$15 Google TV is far better $199 Apple TV
I disagree. I have both and the clutteredness of Google TV and Ads on its homepage is a huge turn off. No ads and clean interface with AppleTV is a big plus. It's the reason I also don't use the Samsung or Roku interface is because of the Ads. Of all the ones I own: AppleTV > Roku > SamsungTV > FireTV > Google TV

Give it to family members? Perhaps you have another TV? Sell it on FB marketplace?

Would it have been easier to return it to store? Just curious

Picture and sound probably not. That said interface, speed, no ads, tight integration with Apple ecosystem are the main selling points for me. I have all of the other ones and Apple is my favorite with Roku Ultra a close 2nd. If you are happy with Google TV there is no reason to get this.
