I would buy it if it's on Lenovo website and not ebay (for Amex cash back). Tried to PM but couldn't get it.

Ehhhh, the 3060 is not the right card for this build if it is intended primarily for gaming. Especially considering the driver-based performance improvements in the previous gen AMD cards and their relative prices. Reasonable specs for the price if you're more focused on productivity.

Would you say this one at Costco is a better deal? https://www.costco.com/lenovo-leg...57987.html

The link is dead but this is much better deal the graphics card is not worth the extra 300 save that to use on the 5000 series or 4000 series

if the specs are what fit then yes this is a pretty good deal considering it has 3 year warranty and 32GB RAM.

3060 is actually more stable than 3070 in recent AAA games due to higher RAM.

Not the most balanced build for gaming, but would be a perfect build for stable diffusion.

2 months ago I bought the IdeaCentre open box for $720, threw in 32G memory (DDR4) and 2TB SSD, total was ~$870:

This Legion deal has DDR5 and a case with much better air circulation, $950 is a very good price if this build is what you need, but not so slick otherwise.

That is true in some ways and not at all in others. A lot of recent PC ports are making unreasonable demands on VRAM because of their lack of optimization rather than an actual need for additional texture memory. PC first games (that is to say games which were designed to run natively on PCs from the start) don't have many such issues. That said, it seems clear that we should expect PC ports to continue to suffer until publishers have a financial incentive to release products when they are finished instead of in the most potentially profitable release window.

Also, again, the alternative or upgrade to a 3060 should not be the 3070 if the desired result is raw performance. Or stability. or price. or power draw.

Do SDers have the memory of a goldfish or what?

Under a year ago this would have been a smoking deal even at $1300, especially with all the GPU shortages in recent years.

Now it's $950 and people are sleeping on it?

If you need to throw a better card in, you can throw the 3060 right back on eBay for $300 and get takers all day long.
