The only worthwhile part of this Edition is the original Tales from the borderlands.

I haven't played New Tales from the Borderlands though online reviews do indeed seem to say not as good as the original.

Try adding the original " Tales from the Borderlands" to your steam wish list, wait until the next Steam sale (say their winter or summer sale for example.. trying to remember if Steam also has a black friday/autumn sale) and snag it for $6.24 so that way you're not too sad if it wasn't what you expected Smilie

Telltale games like the original Tales from the Borderlands are one of those things you will either love or hate.. it's basically a "choose your own adventure" story very much on rails and while your decisions will have a certain effect on the outcomes in the end there's normally just "one" ending you're going to arrive at no matter what... so it's definitely not "open world" like say Skyrim for example ... on the other hand to me games like the Batman Arkham games and the rebooted Tomb Raider games are a ton of fun and while say Batman in particular is very open ended about how many different ways you can defeat the bad guys to get to your goal and advance the storyline there still is only "one" storyline you can choose .. and these games still got great reviews from online reviewers like IGN and gamespot and so forth.

Honestly try adding " The Walking Dead Season One" from telltale games to your steam wish list and snag it for $3.41 during one of the sales I mentioned above, I enjoyed the heck out of that one and if you like that (it got rave reviews and is credited with reviving the "point and click" type games) then consider putting "The walking dead the telltale definitive edition" on your steam wish list for $20 on sale .. which means you lose out on the $3.41 you spent on Walking Dead Season One but that way you only lose $3.41 if Telltale games really aren't your sort of thing ... or to put it another way if you don't like Walking Dead Season One I would argue you probably won't like ANY of the Telltale games.

Also my apologies I just realized I've made a lot of comments about Steam when this post was clearly intended for console users (Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo)

Having said from what I see online all three consoles do have their own Black Friday sales so I would still recommend putting the games I mentioned on the appropriate wish list depending on what console you have and waiting until Black Friday.

While Walking Dead Season One is "the" telltale game to get followed by Walking Dead Season Two and Walking Dead the Final Season (sadly while the Walking Dead a New Frontier is kind of "meh" in comparison to the other ones you'll still wish you played through it if nothing else to get the full impact of Walking Dead Final Season when you go through it .. new Frontier basically serves as "season 3") , and Tales from the Borderlands (original one) is good, also very good are the Batman telltale games .. grab Batman the Telltale Series first then Batman the Enemy Within second and have some patience with Batman the Telltale Series, I gave up on it halfway through the first episode, came back to it, really started to enjoy it from episode two and was blown away by how good it was by the time I finished the fifth episode. I liked Telltale the Wolf Among Us too although not as much as the other titles I just mentioned.

But seriously before buying these games in whatever format you choose, get Walking Dead Season One first and wait until it's on sale.. it really is like being in an interactive movie with all the pluses and minuses.. very immersive experience but your choices are very limited in terms of the control you have over your character as opposed to say any of the Batman Arkham or Tomb Raider games which are also very narrative-driven but definitely give you choices as to how to put the hurt on the bad guys... Telltale games is more like " Okay your character is in this situation, pick one of these two choices.. yes both choices suck yes you're going to get someone upset or mad at you either way but hey that's life".. I like that sort of thing personally Smilie but Telltale games is one of those things where you'll either love or hate it.

If you have the patience to read through my long walls of text as a Telltale games fan I had a lot to say about the subject Smilie ... not sure how many Telltale games you've played through?

I can't say anything about this one since I haven't played it but I can say the original Tales from the Borderlands was a lot of fun and definitely worth picking up BUT see my long walls of text (if you have the patience for them that is Stick Out Tongue ) as far as a proposed strategy if this would be your first ever telltale games purchase.

New tales from the borderlands is a fun game.

It's different than the original tales from the borderlands which was made by telltale and the new tales is made by gearbox.

Overall it was a really good game with multiple endings all depending on choices made through each chapter.
