My refurb dies just after a year. Dyson told me to beat it. Bought a Samsung from Walmart and it's been a champ

For the Animal, no returns with dyson and only 6 months warranty. V10 Allergy and Motorhead is pretty much the same and since its with ebay has 2 year warranty and 30 days return policy. I got the V8 fluffy for $179 as I have a smaller home with hardward floors so the fluffy comes with the soft roller.
when did you get a v8 fluffy for $179? That's nice.

Same exp, I ended up getting a V10 brand new from Best Buy when there was a $299 deal.

2 Year warranty + 1 additional year from either a Premium Visa or Amex card makes it a great deal.

I don't recommend Dyson if they're refurbished, at least w/ the trigger unit they have.

The hair dryers with slide switches are far better and more reliable and I can recommend those products, however, a lot of refurbs I've seen are from Canada which don't include the GFCI on the cord that's required in the USA.

So buyer beware.

PSA: I've owned the V10 Animal for 2 years and I DO NOT recommend buying it. It's fundamentally flawed in its design. The channel that feeds into the canister is far too restrictive which leads to clogs even when the canister isn't full. The canister is too small which leads to dust and debris getting trapped and gathering on one side. Cleaning the vacuum does not resolve this issue, nor does cleaning or replacing the filter. Do NOT buy this!

Bought one from Dyson the last deal. It arrived broken and I'm waiting for them to ship me the part to replace. If I don't receive it within the next few days I'm just going to return it. Their customer service has been horrible.

I got a refurb dyson 7 years ago, still going like a champ. Amazing product, cleans my small house and keeps the floor shining.

The unit I received from Dyson was broken on arrival. Attachments would not secure/lock in place. I ended up shipping it back for a return.

If I had to guess your dustbin wasnt shut all the way. If you dont secure the lid closed the lockout button wont slide fully into the slot and the red button will stay de-pressed.

I had this happen to me (complete user error.)

Plenty of replacement batteries on Amazon or eBay. 1 screw on the back of the handle. Super easy fix.

I have had 2 dyson battery vacuum in last 7 years and have had bad experiences.
They are by design made to be disposable.
I am looking for alternatives battery handheld vacuum.

Echoing what someone else said.. I just got one of these this week and had the same issue. My dustbin just needed to be reseated and all is fine.
