If you recently bought one of the 20W Lion Energy solar panels that were on clearance, you probably received an email like I did mentioning that they are now having a Buy 1 Get 1 Free sale for their "portable" $299 100W 24V solar panels (https://lionenergy.com/products/l...olar-panel). I checked that there's free shipping on this too.

It's portable because it's a 2-piece folding panel that I think comes with a case. But it's also 22 lbs and kind of big at 26.5" x 20" x 1" (Folded), 26.5" x 40" x 1" (Unfolded).

Would one of these 24V panels work ok with generally any modern power station that has MPPT like Jackery and Ecoflow? I've only used a 12V panel before to charge my power stations. I assume these 24V panels are like putting 2 100W 12V panels in series so this should work even better than a single 12V 100 panel, right? But what I'm not clear is why the 24V 100W panel is regularly priced the same $299 as their 12V 100W panel (https://lionenergy.com/products/p...olar-panel). Shouldn't it cost more?

Also, not entirely clear what kind of connection this panel uses as I cannot find any pictures of the back of it. It probably uses an Anderson connection as that is what the 12V version of this panel uses. So may need to factor in the extra cost of an adapter if not able to use an Anderson connection directly.

Wattage is Voltage x Current. If voltage is 24V and wattage is 100W then current is 100W/24v = 4.17A, if voltage is 12V then current is 8.33A. Also, it is likely the same hardware wired in a different way.

I enjoyed the 20w. If that comes around again I would def recommend. This however is pretty pricey unless you absolutely need the fold. Roughly twice the price of the regular panels you see on here.

Also I assume/hope the 24v x 2.78a in the description is wrong. That's not 100w.

check your specific model of solar battery but almost all reputable models will have a max solar input voltage higher than the 48v two these would be in series, so that would be fine.

Oh, right. So I guess one of these is really no different than a 100W 12V panel OR 2x 50W 12V panels in series then? Or is there any advantage of a 100W 24V panel vs a 100W 12V panel?

It is just whatever you need. Many controllers won't care, but like my reverse osmosis pump is 24v and I think when i set up home batteries i will stick with that. Electronically it is easier to drop voltage, especially for low current things (one chip can drop voltage, but has to burn whatever the dV is).
