Several years ago, I had a 250gb EX900 used as a primary drive that failed on me in less than 6 months (One morning it was just no longer recognized).I swore after that I would only use Samsung or other well known brand drives.

You need to check other sellers- Click on "New and used (11) from" on the left and select Amazon for $39.58.

So the deal as posted is no good, and you are instead directly to a 3rd party seller, BIWIN Tech a Chinese supplier who sells "flash storage and memory for several famous computer brands."

Are they an authorized HP Reseller in US? Good luck getting a 3 year warranty. Assume for the sake of discussion its a legit HP EX900.

You are better off buying a 1 TB Gen3 KingSpec NVMe from Aliexpress for less money than that, that is the manufacturer of its own drives

Sorry for your loss, that is because the 250gb EX900 is just a 100 TBW drive. And their 1 TB is just 200 TB that by modern standards is just laughably short lifetime.

And by the way EX900 1TB is just 1600 MB/sec reads. that was OK four years ago in 2019 when Amaxon started selling them. My Kingspec 1 TB I bought 2 for $68 does ~3300 on a cheap PCIe to NVME adapter card where I already have a Gen 4 WD 850x as the main drive mounted on the motherboard.

Evidently someone changed the link in the original posting and it now comes up as $39.58 and shows "fulfilled by Amazon". I haven't had any experience with this, but I would suppose that an item "fulfilled by Amazon" would cause Amazon to come down hard on any vendor misrepresenting an item and if there were enough complaints, that seller would be banned. Just a thought.

Bingo, Amazon doesn't mess around with third-party vendors. MSNBC or one of them investigated this and they're coming down hard on this crapπŸ‘πŸ’ͺ🏻

"Fulfilled by Amazon" just means the following, and nothing more: The product is stored in an Amazon warehouse and is shipped by Amazon. That term fulfilled by Amazon is only about the logistics of how a product is shipped and has nothing to do with warranty nor any other consumer protection. For this particular product click on warranty and it says:

"Please contact the seller directly for warranty information for this product. You may also be able to find warranty information on the manufacturer's website." Nice an generic. HP is not going to stand behind you on this one on warranty claims or any other defect other than you never got the item, or it was DOA. Amazon provides the marketplace.

Amazon's only warranty is you will receive a product that is not "dead upon arrival".

Biwin is the manufacturer of these SSD's, and any warranty service will be through them. HP licenses their name to Biwin to slap on these SSD's.

You are correct. Thanks I learned something. So your warranty is also through Biwin not HP. Thanks again.

YMMV depending on who you get for Customer Service and how long you've been a prime member most of the time even when it's past the 30 day return policy, they will take care of you. That's been my personal experience but then again I've been a Amazon member since 2005.🀷🏻 ♂️
