A lot of great reviews.

but also quite a few talking about near non-existent firmware updates and a few talking about the drive failing.

Tells how it is a fantastic drive, but that the "retail" version that is made in China (unlike the original "sample" one given) seems to have one small component change that completely tanks it as a "workstation" drive.

My views on the drive:
-I was pumped about it. ADATA is meh, but it was fast and seemed reliable enough.
-Not enough Firmware updates or they're being blocked.
-A few bricks.
-Seems Retail version made in China (instead of Taiwan) has one or two changes that make it worse in certain tests/applications.

I entertained the drive for a bit, but I want an m.2 as my main drive. I want to make sure that the main drive is safe for all applications and safe for long-term use (I usually keep my PC builds for 5 to 8 years). Can't trust this one with all these variables.

Why would you need firmware updates if it works? So many SSD deals and so hard to choose!
