Got this last year for same price on sale. It was a pain to put together but is gorgeous.

Now a year later in the hot CA sun the wood seems to be splitting on the posts. I have long term concerns over this but unrealistic to disassemble and return. Beware

Agreed. A full day for 2 people. A 3rd or 4th person when installing the roof will be handy.

Marketplace/CL are good places to find people that assemble these. It's surprising to most people that there are businesses that ONLY serve to assemble these DIY things like gazebos, play sets, etc. Long story short, I have a high school kid that does lawn stuff for me (grunt work like clearing land, spreading mulch, etc) and after he noticed me putting up one of these (and a playset later in the summer), he got into installing them on the side. Perfect job for industrious and responsible youngsters.

Bc the labor price would be more then the gazebo for them to make a profit...by all accounts it's a 8-10hr for experienced folks. 2 days for novice

The ones at the Costco stores are the 12'X14' Grand Gazebos. The one posted is the 12'X16'. Slightly larger and a slightly different design.

How's the one you purchased last year holding up? I just built the 12'X14' Grand Gazebo.

No, it says it's lightly stained already (at least the 12x14 grand gazebo that I have). But now that I've had it for a year, I will plan on painting/staining it to protect from the elements.

Seems like a fake sale. The same company sells the 12x14 version for $1899 normally with no sale, but the 12x16 version is $2599, marked down to $1999. Smells like BS.

12x16 goes on sale every year at this time for this price. Use search to see.

March is the time to buy these. The 12x14 modern is $1899 on sale. The 12x14 in this style was on sale 2 weeks ago for $1400

They don't carry the 12x16 in store... It's an online exclusive

Seal them to protect from water and sun. No need to paint unless you don't like the color.

They recommend stain/seal 3 months after assembly and then maintain like any other exposed wood, which could mean every year to every 5 years depending on the climate you are in.

Is the wood pressure treated lumber to be more durable to rot, bugs, fire? Is the lumber heavy and of good quality?

Or, is it cheap, consumer grade, playground type of lumber?

I read a review saying theres extra holes etc that dont get used. Kinda so each post can be installed in several different places.

Thus each post legit has open unused holes, from the factory.

Obvi water ingress etc could be an issue, leaving the home owner to glue in a dowel and seal etc.

Can ne1 confirm? Bc thats annoying
I don't recall that with mine, however there was a ton of hardware leftover. I have a gallon sized ziploc in my shed filled with misc hardware from this.

Regarding the posts, I DO recall the instructions being incorrect, or the post labels wrong. The posts have a wide side and a narrow side (looking at the top). The wide side goes with the long side of the gazebo. The way the instructions stated it was confusing, just took some common sense to know what to bolt where. I don't recall the exact specifics as this was a year ago for me, but I do remember it being wrong.

I didn't get one… and I installed myself in the midst of having a pool put in so the inspector was very familiar with the area & observed the construction. It's different for each county of course but where I am (in the valley) I THINK you don't need one as long is it isn't attached to a structure, and/or doesn't have electrical going to it (mine does, DIY 😏)
