Try NAPS2. I switched to NAPS2 and I'll never go back to proprietary scanner software. As long as Windows recognizes the device as a connected scanner, it will work.
Great printer so far, got it last deal time. Very happy. Super quiet, drivers for latest MacOS, scanning works without issues.
I don't print much so maybe 200 prints so far if at all. Connected via Ethernet to router as network printer. I had the MF-227dw before for many years and this is a great replacement. Excellent print quality and no issues. I am using 100% recycled paper. No jams whatsoever.
I bought this printer for my in-laws last time it was this price. Seems to be pretty decent. I haven't replaced the toner yet but I did make sure 3rd party cartridges are available. I have another Canon printer (don't recall the number but it's a ca. 2018 color model I bought for about $250 on sale back then) that I use with 3rd party toner without a problem so I don't expect any issues with this one.

Well I'll be damned. So far so good even as a wireless scanner.
Do we need to replace the ink toner and drum?
Sorry, I don't know much about it, so trying to understand.
Didn't need to replace the drum when I put in the aftermarket toner. So far I've used the original toner cartridge that came with the printer and I'm halfway through the first Toner Kingdom replacement cartridge. There should be a reading for remaining drum life percentage in the printer display.
Giving this a try, hopefully it is better than what we have now. Thanks, OP.
Anyone ever have troubles with big item returns at Amazon?
Well , if you choose Fedex pickup , then just forget abt them picking it . #
Fedex guy comes and drops in the shipping label and runs away , zero effort to knock on door to get the package .
Have tried twice .
Q: Does this copier do duplex?
A: Hi! The imageCLASS MF264dw supports auto duplexing printing, however, duplex scan and copy are manual. The imageCLASS MF269dw support auto duplexing in print, scan, and copy mode. We hope this helps!

Q: Does the canon mf264dw have a one pass duplex scanner?
A: Hello, The imageCLASS MF264dw printer includes duplexing; however it does not have the Single-Pass (one pass) duplex option. I have confirmed that the imageCLASS MF426dw and the imageCLASS MF424dw do include Single-Pass duplex scanning.

I bought this printer about a month ago when it was at this price. I love it so far. The scanning is pretty crisp and tunable, prints pretty fast. Airprint works flawlessly and I have been using it in network mode, connected via wifi.
To get it to work as a network printer for windows machines, you NEED to use the software they send on a CD with the printer. The software on their website doesn't work.
Thanks so much.
Can this scan double side with one pass?
Can you also get it to scan to USB or direct to network share, or do you have to have the computer on?

Got my answer, thanks so much for sharing.
I think any deal with ADF should mention duplex scan and of its single pass as most important feature.
No duplex, no go for me. It's very important these days.
I bought this last month when it is shown on the front page. It is very difficult to install. Cannon's software is so updated and not user friendly. What I concern is the scan to email but Cannon totally failed in this regard. I don't recommend this deal and this model.
Anyone else share my experience? I bought a monochrome laser printer (Brother brand, though), and I wouldn't go back to a color inkjet.
As a photographer, sure I enjoy color prints. However, I looked at my real useage, and I was unhappy with the photo print quality, and my typical usage was to print off some text a handful of times per year. Seemed like half my ink was used by nozzle cleaning and calibration processes, and it would dry and expire. WHY do B&W text prints keep using the yellow? 😂
We switched to a mono laser printer in like 2015. It took us YEARS to use up the smaller capacity "starter" toner cartridge, and we never had to worry about it drying out, or smudging fresh ink prints, and it prints FAST. For photos, an online service like Snapfish or Photoshuffle (or, in a rush, Walgreens… never again Walmart 😂) did a much better job than an inkjet anyway.

Same reason I moved to laser printers. Got tired of ink drying out. Can't have a good inkjet without it always on and running maintenance, but if you don't use it much, it's pretty much just killing electricity and the ink still dries or runs out.
Got a color laser a while back but once the starter carts were done, the replacements are crazy priced (and YES yellow went first haha). So I switched to this one because it comes with a full cart and I can keep it powered off between uses. Starts up super quick, so not feeling like I need to leave it on at all.
I need a printer that can fax...any recommendations
Sending or receiving (or both)? If sending only, I sometimes will use GotFreeFax (limited to two faxes per day for free). I only fax a few times a year so I don't need an actual fax machine.
