I bought this same set when they were clearing them out at Target last year. The AP constantly dropped. The router had to be restarted almost daily. If you don't want to constantly micromanage your wireless network, stay away from these. One of the worst google products I have experienced.
Respectfully you are incorrect. I have 3 of them myself and they are working just fine. In the software during connection it automatically detects your network and asks if you want to set up as a point.
Definitely will cosign on this statement. I had 7 customers and myself who upgraded to this and they are FATAL. Firmware issue and no update for the fix. Had to replace them for All of my customers and ended up doing the regular GoogleWifi 4pack which definitely worked 110% better than these. 2 customers got so skeptical that they requested Eero pros and they haven't complained ever since.

If you can do a wired back haul I highly suggest 2 routers. It's only a little more but a much better setup. we found in a 2k SQ ft house having the AP made the speeds much worse than just using the single router.

No real reason to get the access points since the routers themselves can act as access points in a mesh network. Just grab two or three of the $59 routers and away you go

Actually, this router will not act as a point. You need to get a point, if you need to expand the WiFi coverage area.
theres an amazon listing for a two pack of routers and it says the complete opposite of what u wrote

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YMJ57MB

1 Wi-Fi router plugs into your internet provider's modem to create your Wi-Fi network. The other extends the wireless network and keeps your connection fast to devices in every room. For more coverage, add Nest Wifi routers or points to your system.

I also switched to the eero Pro 6E when it was a Slickdeal

I can confirm this Nest System had a firmware change and then slowed down (I had only routers with a backhaul)

For Router Only, 2 packs of 1 is cheaper than 1 pack of 2. ($59x2 vs $123x1).

We moved to eero as well.. eero pro 6 tri-band and just one unit covers 2000 sqft easy enough. If you go mesh, you are halfing speeds depending on different factors, so should be compared to just one unit speed tests performed in further away locations. Main thing I don't like of either nest or eero, they are not made for those that like to custom your network at all. This would be fine if reasonable preferences were offered. Eero updates almost every day it seems which is great, but I can't set the time or not update from what I can tell. I am using it during that time, so that part isn't great.
