Fly longer with improved social media support when filming with the Mini 3 from DJI. Compared to the previous generation, the Mini 3 sports improved wind resistance and battery life, now offering up to 38 minutes of flight time. It also adds true vertical shooting, which is a feature that lets you rotate the gimbal 90° to film vertical shots that can be immediately shared on social media platforms. Like the Mini 2, the Mini 3 captures stunning videos in 4K HDR, uses OcuSync 2.0 for a transmission range of up to 6.2 miles, and includes a host of automated functions to make piloting easier. Please note that this is the "drone-only" version of the Mini 3 and does not include a remote controller.
QuickShots
Using a handful of different pre-programmed drone flight patterns, you can use the DJI Fly app to quickly take professional-level videos. You can choose from Dronie, Helix, Rocket, Circle, or Boomerang modes. Once captured, the DJI Fly app lets you add filters and soundtracks and share your work directly to social media platforms. Using QuickTransfer, you can quickly send your QuickShots to your mobile device for backup and online sharing.
Panorama
With aerial photography, the canvas is vast, which is why DJI gives you multiple options for capturing it all with panorama modes. You can choose from Wide-Angle, 180°, or Sphere panoramas. The Mini 3 automatically does the rest.
Built-In Photo Optimization
The DJI Fly app can intelligently optimize your images immediately after downloading a photo from the Mini 3, providing you with shots that exhibit more vivid colors and contrast.
QuickTransfer

More of a nice to have feature but if you plan to fly a lot, yes, I think it's worth it.
I think the real deal here is the drone only. You can pick up a controller for like $35 separately.

Interesting, what is better for you with the tablet over the RC controller?
The only things I like better about the RC with a screen is the light weight, and the right wheel to control digital zoom (but I almost never use digital zoom anyways).

Also I wonder if this is in preparation for a new Mavic Air 3 drone. There's been much speculation in the drone community that's what will be coming out this year, as early as next month.
Just bought a drone. got the extra batt for 65, and I do see the lightly used remotes for around 30-40... although I bet I can use my phone like I can on my mavic air till I get a remote control.
All that for under 500$ for a pretty new camera drone is a good deal.
I spent 500$ on my mavic air back in 2020... I'll probably sell it now if I could get 300$ for 2 batteries and an ipad adapter I think i'd be doing very well
