Any chance the price might go down a little bit more? The sweet spot would be $40k out the door with taxes and rebate credit included.
It could and when you buy for 40k few months later it could be selling for 35K and this is not a costco purchase where you can return and comes with manufacturing defects sometimes so beware

Beware it could go to 40k after you buy in next few months. A car being depreciated by manufacturer with crashing resale values, you won't be able to sell it next year if you want too and comes with manufacturing defects which are not taken care by manufacturer as customer service is non existent. I am a tested customer and owner of Y
this is slick deals they wouldn't sell it next year for less! they would keep it in the garage unused like all the other unnecessary tech they bought over the years.
Let's be constructive though what "manufacturing defects" have you experienced on your Model Y? I have a modell 3 and i have had 3 problems 1 with a seatbelt sensor 1 with my 12 volt battery and another with a loose panel all fixed by tesla. owner since 2019 almost 100k miles on my car.

1. umm what? government does not need my income tax early to run.
2. you can calculate what you estimated tax for the year is based on your income, why wouldn't i just pay my payroll income tax instead of "overpaying" and getting a refund? wtf?
3. "give myself the wrong impression and promote unnecessary spending...so now you are saying if you dont have self control managing money is hard? hahahaah
4. like investing that extra money? so you are saying it is better to loan the governemnt money for a year instead of investing it for any none 0 percent? like 1 percent? or 2 percent?

dude these reasons are nonsensical
Dude, you are mixing up a person can make perfect financial sense and majority of people.

1. Government depends on this money. If no tax is withheld, it cannot function properly. That is to say, people underpayment or overpay, a few persons' action do not really matter.

2. I underpay every year knowingly that the HHI is going to increase. However, if your HHI is lower than last year and you still under withheld for $10k, you are looking for $700/800 penalty and interest.

3. If you know what you are doing, fine. But most people don't. For example quite some people made a big profit from stock in 2021 without properly reserving enough for tax season. When in 2022 their portfolio got a hit, people have difficulty to repay the underpaid tax.

4. 3 tells you, the underpayment shall not used to invest into high risk investment. It shall be in a saving account and kept to be liquid. So before 2022, such investigation only gives you less 2%. So it does not really make a big difference.

No one is promoting overpayment. However withholding proper amount is a suitable action for most people.

1. I am refering to the "early payment/overpayment" i am not trying to say there should be no tax withheld i am saying dont over pay or even better under pay by a little bit.
2. wont comment on your personal unique situation
3. "if you know what you are doing" yeah i guess that is just me going to assume people who are literate will know what they are doing. yup definitely risk it all on black is what i am talking about not the two examples such as treasures or bank savings
4. 2 percent does not make a difference? I guess you are right hey can you give me 2percent of $3k of your money? since it doesn't make a difference to giving me 0 percent of your hard earned $3k ill give you my venmo info or maybe $cash app or apple cash is better for you?

Most people dont understand that paying a portion of your tax due every month is the same thing as paying it once when filing taxes, but see below. Same reason why people have no clue how installments work.

caveat - you can consider tax due as an interest free loan, IF you dont have a underpayment penalty and you actually invested it)

Yep. They read something that says 7500.00 owed and they dont understand how taxes work, If you grossly overpay witholding at the end of the year you can brag how big your tax refund was, when you were merly getting back your own overpayment of taxes.

My front doors don't close properly, have to bang them hard right from show room. They said I don't have a choice to not take that and be on waitlist and get next one in 2022 when prices and demand was high. Hence took it as they promised to fix, they took the car back to garage a month later, they did so so work on it and admitted that these defects are seen more often from models made in Austin Gigafactory and said sorry it's not fixable, that's it no compensation for giving me defective car, but rewarded me by not being able to sell it either with 15k price cuts since I bought it. It's a cheap cookie cutter computer on wheels which is being depreciated by the manufacturer without any remorse to recent buyers. No loyalty No customer satisfaction, just money( didn't expect this from a made in America super hyped up brand).

What are all these people doing for insurance since the price keeps dropping? Imagine you paid $65K for a new MY last year and still owe $55K on it and it is totaled. The insurance company is going to tell you it is only worth $40K now and that is all they are going to give you. I imagine there are many people in this situation.

Again you miss understood 4). Depending on your tax complexity, it could be very hard to get the withheld right within $3k range. So it could be either $3k overpayment missing on 2% return or $3k underpayment causing a 8% penalty/interest. Compare to the risk, the 2% return looks to be less favorable, right?

If you are comparing model y with honda fit, model y should be priced at 35k not 50k. Also check Tesla's autopilot rank https://i.stuff.co.nz/motoring/13...ty-ratings. It is even behind ford and Honda.
For the millionth time, I am not a proponent of tesla. I am merely challenging the statement that you can get a "nice" comparable ice suv for 30k. I don't care about anything else.
And you still won't say a make and model so I guess I will take my victory lap.

Look at median income per household in US (70k) .it is per house/family. I Do not agree. It has not been changed that much . Most Americans can not afford a New normal Midsize sedan cars. Household Income of 189k per year put that family way above average American I mean way above that . Yes we have billionaire but they are not so many. Very few

I blame them specifically for that fact. The world can't get better, if you remain ignorant, and desire to get out from that is low because folks are so selfish and self absorbed. ie Bad People.
