also quality of cars is way out the drain.. i have some many rattles .. they wont fix anything.. and panel gaps.. is upto spec as per them.. wasted 4 different days for service sessions
You must suck at getting support, probably as abrasive as you are here. They fixed the tiniest issues I reported on delivery, and I'm 6 hours from there nearest shop. Excellent service.

Tesla has become a shittiest brand with Terrible service quality, average build quality at best (I unfortunately own two of these, starting 2021) but the purchase in 2023 made me realize my mistake. car is decent, but so many issues. Ideally, I could've spent 10k more and bought a Lucid, but since they're slow on deliveries and I needing a car urgently worked to Tesla's advantage. VW is making decent quality and Kia bringing great alternatives.
You are aware lucid isnt actually making deliveries of cars under $130k.. you will be able to get a cybertruck before you can get lucid for cheaper than $130k lol

There was a small problem with my door, tesla tech came to my house and had it off in literally 3 minutes as i stood there and then fixed the issue and popped it back on. Was mindblowing compared to the audi dealerships. I feel sorry for people who think having to sit in a dealership lobby with no wifi as some tech dicks around with your car for an hour because the dealer charges audi by the hour is somehow a better experience.

Yes, it is a tax credit. If you would have paid $10k in taxes total, with the credit you will only pay $2.5K
Since ypur withholding was calculated based on $10k taxes you will likely get a refund from the IRS

Sounds like your name should be princess…if you could have bought a Lucid you could have gotten an MS or MX. Bought with great quality…peasant I tell you. 🫣😬

Not a good deal, poor build quality and reliability, still a luxury price for economic quality, why buy now when they'll be lowering prices even further the next few months?

Elon continues to promote the promise of autonomous driving to Wall Street while bringing the cost down for the 3 and Y to the masses do to softening demand/consumer base who can't afford the vehicle.

The X and S sales are sagging and would benefit from a refresh.

Margin contraction for market share is great, if they can execute, but the promise of autonomy and robotaxi is so absurd in the regulatory environment, it boggles the mind on valuations from the Cathy Woods of the world.

For the consumer who can get the credit, this is a good deal as a commuter/2nd vehicle. Cars are, in general depreciating assets. Tesla is no different, until/if the prove otherwise.

The first mistake you made was associating Elon only with Tesla and ignoring the fact that he's one of the few private companies that works directly with NASA to have rockets sent into space. His SpaceX company revolutionized the rocket, by making it reusable. People are going crazy for "going green" but what other Car company does solar roof installation to pair with your EV car and has battery backup too? Personal robots are on the horizon, along with his new ai company he's developing, and neuralink. He's ten steps ahead of any other brand.
Great post. It's amazing the downvotes! Haters and people who missed out on investing in TSLA in 19/20! Man, are they irate!

And as cited earlier in the thread, their warranty claim rate is much lower than VW (which is among the worst in the industry) or Kia (who is also not great, but better than VW)

Wouldn't be at all surprised if most of the people buying a Tesla on slickdeals are not paying the extra $15K fsd add on (could be wrong through).

And not comparing self driving tech across EVs. Simply saying as more EVs come to market, prices are going to likely continue to drop.
Fsd isn't necessary for the car to drive itself. I bought a $40 steering wheel weight and it can go 2+ hours without human input

As a fellow slickdealer, I just want to share my experience with my Y. I've had a model y since October 2020. Let the TD's begin..

Beware of software updates - they do have defects, often. For instance now my car is telling me to go at red lights. Twice in the same drive just after an update. I often have to reboot the car after an update to fix random issues. Once it rebooted while I was on the freeway, scared the crap out of me but driving was not affected and after a few minutes everything came back.

When I build my exact model today, with tow hitch and full self driving, vs buying it today, it costs $8200 more today (without the 7500TC). No idea why but this is 1:1 with my invoice. Probably due to FSD.

It gets loud over time. Creaking, road noise, and a bumpy ride. Definitely not a luxury car.

I like a lot of features, but the fact that Tesla employees have been found to be watching car cameras while in garages and non emergency events concerns me greatly. They have also passed around horrible accident videos across the company as entertainment. I don't really trust the company in this way, no do I really trust their quality testing given how erratic the self driving can behave after an update.

FSD and lane keep assist are not reliable. What I mean is, I only commute a few days a month and I often can't use FSD or even LKA. Too bright and it won't work, same for rain. Not sure how this is supposed to be a "robotaxi" in the future.

These are just my experiences. I'm sure I'll get TD just for saying anything negative about Tesla but whatever.

I love the dog mode, being able to see my dog in car, watching videos on the screen (have 3 kids), remotely opening doors and the trunk and being told when they're open, location tracking and ETA estimates remotely - these are cool and useful features. Saving money on gas and maintenance is huge if you can charge at home.

I've had one maintenance issue where the ceramic tip of one of the charge prongs broke off after using a supercharger, unsure if it's related or nut. Mobile repair came out and fixed it a few days later free of charge but I am under warranty.

If you use dog mode a lot like we do you'll notice the heat pump causes a really bad smell over time, usually about the 1 year mark. This requires filter replacements (which are located under the dash requiring disassembly, Watch on YouTube) and cleaning of the condenser coils to rid, just an fyi. Self maintenance that takes an hour. It's not difficult but not convenient.

Overall the only deal breakers for me is the privacy and quality control of their software. I'm not on the FSD beta, so these bugs I call out are in the normal production model. FSD beta requires agreement to access cameras more, which is a no go due to privacy concerns. They determine what an "emergency situation" is to access the cameras, but an empty garage doesn't seem like it fits that. This was in a recent Reuters article so you can read for yourself.

The Y has a lot of room, and is one of the largest in its class so it's hard to find something comparable and affordable.

Hope this is helpful to someone.
