They've been phasing these out for the "Next Gen" models, but these are still good tools and the kit comes with two batteries. Really a great deal at this price. They recently dropped from $249 to $229 to $179 and now $143.

From the reviews I've seen the next gen tools are not really with the extra money. You would pay double this amount for the "Next Gen" version.

A Real 4 tool deal, not one of those with a flashlight and brushed tools.
SlickDeal . If I hadn't used up all of my " it was too good a deal to pass up " lines , I'd grab one

This is a great deal. I think I paid $200 for a 6 "tool" set that also has two batteries. It came with a flashlight and multi-tool and the one handed reciprocating saw. It has done several room renovations in my house and has never given me any problems. I highly recommend them to anyone needing a decent homeowner set of tools. The weak link is the impact driver. It's good, but not great. It has 3 speed settings that will drive the fastener to different depths, but the driver is variable speed, so it's rather pointless and you can just leave it on the third setting and control the depth yourself. Anyway, at this price, well worth it. The 24v line is continuing to expand, too. Nowhere near the Ryobi One+ line, but definitely fleshing out.

Surprisingly good deal for anyone looking to get into a cordless system. If I didn't already have stuff, would have jumped at this.

I own just about every tool kobalt makes. Just the 4amp battery is about 70 bucks (they used to be 50 and were a steal).

I have about 80% of their 24V lineup. Pole saw, chain saw, drills, sander, etc. Never had an issue with any of the tools or batteries or chargers over the last 4 years. Had friends with higher brand tools comment on his efficient and powerful the majority of the tools are. Solid 4.5/5 stars

I paid over 200 for this exact set last year. Love it. Also have the Multi Tool and a weedwhacker that take the same batteries. They are all really nice.

Doesnt Ryobi have similar priced sets often?i think Ryobi has a bigger eco-system.
