For those not familiar with Macs: This is the same machine as the Costco $1599 deal (and BestBuy $1599 deal) but instead of 8C/14CGPU/512GB, you get 8C/14C/1TB.

At no extra cost.

That's a very worthwhile sale.

Please note the OP's product description is wrong; when you go to the Adorama page, it shows 14cGPU This is the 'standard' 14" MBP 2021 but with a 1TB SSD upgrade.

Code also gives $150 off on the newer 14 M2 pro 12cpu 19gpu 1tb, when added apple care the code went to $210 off. A little cheaper than Costco, around $50 with apple care. Not impulse buy worthy but if you're buying one anyway the little bit off is nice.

Unfortunately, Boot Camp isn't supported on Apple Silicon. There are some other options like Parallels, but you won't be running Windows natively like in the past with Boot Camp.

I'm about to start graduate school and need a new laptop for my program. They require us to have 16gb of ram. I am a fan of the 14-inch form factor but would like to stay closer to 1k if possible. Think there will be any better deals for the M1 or M2 air with 16gb over the next couple months or should I just pull the trigger on this.

I don't think so, Macs hold their value really well and these new ones are even starting at the 2k+ price range. They will eventually come down to this price point but I think this deal is probably the best bang for your buck. I wasn't ready to spend more money but I needto upgrade my 2018 mbp and this one might be the one for the next 3-4 years

new apples get 2 yr warranty at costco and most major credit cards.
the $850 8gb m1 air feels like 12gb ram since it has ultra dual channel fast ram and dual channel ssd.

windows virtual machine on M1 only as of now. this means its a cloud windows.
