if you're wondering, "The chemicals used to produced vanillin give the product a vanilla taste by essentially tricking the brain into thinking it's the real thing. Trace amounts of neurotoxins contained in vanillin have the potential to kill brain cells, but it's more than likely that one would need to consume a large amount before that would happen. Because the flavoring tricks the brain to provoke a positive response (due to the release of serotonin), it can be considered an addictive substance.
Most research has found that the artificial flavoring doesn't pose a major health threat. The exception is those with an allergy to the ingredients. For those who are allergic to the chemicals used during the manufacturing process, mild headaches and other reactions can occur.
While the negative of effects of vanillin aren't likely to cause problems for most, it's worth mentioning that using vanillin means losing out of the benefits of pure vanilla..."
Take away: it's Probably petroleum derived crap, but a little crap won't be fatal, right away at least... so far as they know thus far…Never know, this thinking may be reversed completely with more research, I've seen that happen on other topics. I wish they would just omit it completely! I mean how bad would it taste without the artificial crap? If it's that bad they need to clean up their ingredients more!

no. 25-cents per ball is about standard for a 'good' deal. We see it at this pricepoint pretty commonly here, I think though.

I agree, though I think usually the deal is for the Milk Chocolate flavor (the red box). I bought one around X-mas time.

Funny you mention this. When I bought the milk chocolate truffles around X-mas time, some (not all) of the truffles arrived melted with chocolate oozing out of the wrappers. I informed Amazon and ended up with a free box of truffles. I'm not advocating this, just saying if the truffles do arrive melted, I think Amazon will take care of it. (I will say it was unseasonably hot in my area at the time, and the truffles were quite likely sitting outside baking in the heat for a while.)

Yeah I was being sarcastic. They have issues even getting these to the grocery store without them melting, can't imagine Amazon shipping them & them not melting.

Hmm do I cancel the regular dark blue bag of 120 truffles (from earlier expired deal) which came out to 45 cents/oz or do this extra dark which I prefer for 59c/oz.
