It took a very long time for mine to stop giving off a foul odor. Perhaps they have resolved this. The red sling and the orange roasting rack get used daily. I use Red covered egg bytes for baking and for freezing broth, veg puree and green juice. Another essential is a 1 L covered backpacking pot for PiP pot in pot method which improves the result significantly.

Walmart has similar thing(same functionality, different brand) for half the price. What does make this one better?

Haven't had an issue, but if you handwash, you'll need to occasionally soak it in baking soda + warm water, or some other deodorizer. Silicone and other synthetics tend to hold onto smells.

If you use the dishwasher, it's less of an issue. Never noticed odors with mine or my baking mat since I run them through the dishwasher regularly.

Silicon ones seem cheaper (here or elsewhere) probably easier to clean, but can retain smells depending on what you are using them for. 🤷 ♂️
