Milwaukee makes Ax blades in both bimetal and carbide tipped versions. They're still both Ax blades, being that they're made for cutting wood. The line names are used to denote the intended use of the blade, ie Ax for wood, Torch for metal, Wrecker for demo. It doesn't indicate the tooth material, as there are bimetal and carbide versions of many of their blades. So, a bimetal Ax blade is still an Ax blade, as is the carbide Ax blade.

The carbide blades are about $10 each, so while that would be a phenomenal deal to get 18 of them for $20, that this deal is bimetal only isn't a surprise at all.

Lastly, I'm not sure that this set actually contains bimetal Ax blades at all. There is the one picture of an Ax blade but all the pics of the set there are no blades with Ax printed on them, and Ax isn't mentioned in the product description. They make 5 TPI blades that aren't Ax and are thinner than the 5 TPI bimetal Ax blades.

Don't see the box with this set. Maybe they made an update to the listing.

That Milwaukee number goes to another set: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwa.../322153206

Not that a little more than $1 per blade is a bad deal, but these are definitely basic blades. One picture shows a blade labeled "The Ax", but if you look at individual blades Milwaukee has, those blades (also labeled "The Ax" / "The Wrecker" / "The Torch") have actual carbide teeth for greater life and better cutting power.

The blades in this kit are bi-metal, but do NOT have carbide teeth. If you purchase the individually packaged blades that are labeled "The Ax" / "The Wrecker" / "The Torch", those (much more expensive) blades do have carbide teeth.

It's weird to me that Milwaukee / Home Depot show a picture with a blade that has "The Ax" in this set, but it's just a standard bi-metal blade, no carbide teeth. And when I purchased this kit (with the extra impact bit set), the blades in the package 49-22-1110F do not come printed with "The Ax" or anything similar.

So pay more for the better blades, or use these and replace them more often. But nets out to be the same in the end. Just a matter of changing blades more often.

So 15 in 18 are metal blades? Why so few wood blades?
