Prices are crashing but still laptop manufacturers are selling 256gb storage

Those numbers are just what the company is willing to cover under warranty. Despite what many think, they really shouldn't be considered a good indicator of quality or how long the drive will last. Value brands (like Team Group) know that most people will never come remotely close to those numbers but it gives them something seemingly appealing to advertise. Aside from that, fewer people will bother to RMA a cheap Team Group drive, compared to something better and more expensive like a Samsung or Crucial drive. I am firmly of the opinion that most people put way too much stock in those TBW numbers. For reference, you'd have to average over 560GB of writes per day to hit 1000TB in 5 years. Most people aren't going to be writing that much per month.

It don't think the P3 for $63 was a price mistake. Was up for a couple days and even restocked at the price. Similar tier product, IMHO.

Or the real reason is it's TLC not QLC.
