Purchased this fridge from Lowe's last week for $1899 and the very next day it dropped to $1594 so had Lowe's price match with no issues. I thought the window in the door would be gimmicky but I use it more than I thought I would. This is a counter depth fridge but feels like a standard depth with the storage space. The app for the fridge tracks the air and water filter life, electricity consumption, and the number of times the fridge/freezer door is opened, temperature setting, and energy saver. Refrigerator is very quiet, loudest thing is the ice maker. I've heard the horror stories about LG compressors but I've read that issue should be resolved by now plus this has a 10 year warranty on the compressor.

If you follow the advice here you'll never buy a refrigerator. Everyone hates every brand except for the one they bought 35 years ago which is still running.

The most reliable models seem to be the circa 1920 French door ice boxes. No electricity to worry about, no bad compressors, evaporators, control boards, and if you needed ice, you just use a pick and chip yourself off a chunk. Although, if LG and Samsung were making ice boxes back then, I still feel like they would have major issues.

What a strange feature, what I find most strange is that it specifically only allows you to see inside that one door. Like do you go and organize your fridge specifically putting the type of stuff you want to "see from the outside" on the right? Or do you just knock and hope to see what you want if it happens to be on the right? Or do you just ask yourself why you got roped into buying a gimmicky fridge?

I can say to LG's credit my parents compressor went out, they were out fairly quick and replaced it, iirc they extended warranties on his Model, so I was actually impressed with the service in the MN suburbs.

Got this refrigerator and the range with air fryer delivered for about $2400 after taxes. Not bad at all if you need more than one appliance.

Cheapest labor and material. A lot of things can be easily improved in a fridge but it costs more $$. Less tech in a fridge, the less likely it to fail. Ice maker is one of the biggest failures in a lot of fridges.

Bosch 800 series. My friends in appliances swear by them and they are worth the cost. We have the one with the additional drawer in the middle and it is amazing. Great fridge. Not many bells and whistles but has two compressors and keeps food fresh for a long time.

This also applies to every major appliance as well. Dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, stove, etc. No, nothing usually is ever as good as it was in the past.

Get a fridge without a door water/ice dispenser, as that's the most common point of failure by a huge margin. I really like this fridge but I found it too expensive when I was shopping. I ended up getting a GE French door fridge a couple years ago that people online were pretty middling on but I've had no issues. There's not really a consensus otherwise, just the usual "avoid Samsung" advice you hear everywhere.
