You may have to try both to see if there is any difference, to me only flonase including generic off brand works.

Flonase is cheaper generally and works the same. If you can overcome that smell/taste from flonase. The other one doesn't have as bad a smell/taste. Steroids need time to build up so won't work right away.

I disagree, while they are similar I have had different side effects from Flonase and Nasonex. Flonase for whatever reason makes me drowsy and Nasonex does not. Nasonex works almost instantly for me, and I've used it for weeks at a time without side effects other than a little water retention. Flonase I've tried multiple times and eventually I can't function on it. Nasonex should get generic on shelves soon and then it will be price comparable.

What's the decongestant active ingredient? I've seen these for allergies but not the added benefit of a decongestant. Or is that just marketing?

Mometasone. This (like Nasacort) was for many years only available via prescription.
