The 6800 XT might be worth holding out for - it seems to get about 10-20% better FPS in the benchmarks I've run across which puts it near or ahead of the 4070 in non-RT performance in many games. $450 isn't a bad price for the 6800 though. When the 7800 XT comes out I am betting we'll see the 6800 and 6800 XT down to $400 and $450 respectively.*

Yes it is. I think the 6800 is the best value card for the high end 6000 series. It is not much slower than the 6900xt but uses a lot less power, much cooler and still has the 16GB ram and the same 128mb infinity cache.

depends on the game and resolution, but 6700xt seems to be about 10% (or less) slower

Thanks! I'm looking for about a 20% increase to justify that price.

Man I hope so, rumors say 7800xt might not be released for another few months :/

Does any AIB make a compact version of this card?

It was just an estimated average that I figured on a brief glance at a review. It really depends on the games and resolution and drivers might have improved things since then. Hardwareunboxed did a review 2 weeks ago, revisiting the 6800 (vs 3070) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rh7kFgHe21k

Oh and I just saw a 6750xt on sale for $329 https://slickdeals.net/f/16605425-msi-radeon-rx-6750-xt-mech-2x-12g-oc-gpu-the-last-of-us-part-1-free-shipping-329-99-309-99-ar?v=1 which is even closer in performance to the rx6800 (non xt variant)

No compact versions of the 6800-class cards. I think 6600/XT had a few smaller ones but the numbers of versions in 6800 garb were very few.

The 6750 is a nice sweet spot for 1440p high detail or 1080p high refresh. At least for now, the 12GB on the 6750 is a good match for the performance. I'd definitely buy 6750 over this if I was looking for a "deal."

They made all the AMD cards so close in performance that its tough to get from one tier to another in a GPU without spending an arm and a leg.

That's disappointing the only alternative I see for this kind of performance and efficiency near this price is the expensive 4070.

Yes. 33% more ram and 15-20% more performance. The 6800XT at $520 is solid as well. And the 6950XT for $80 with 15% more performance.

I'd say no. Non xt is hardly better.
Save the 100 or get a 6800 xt
