Not gonna lie, pretty impressed with Levoit as a company. Their stuff actually works well, good manuals and good app. Although the latter could use some minor improvements like letting users manage separate homes, but that looks like a feature they will eventually add. The other issue is that they're into a few different aspects of health with different health devices and kind of clogs up the app a bit with those. They also have a social component which isn't too bad all things considered as you can get answers to questions from other members. However, the app is still actually good. Responsive too.
I have the vital 200, 400 and the 600 and it seems the 600 is a better design in general but it is also bigger. I really like the vital 200 design as well as the filter and the size / design is easier to manage. However it will only get air from one direction whereas the 400 and 600 will gather air from all around it - which means it needs to be separated from walls and can stick out a bit in certain rooms.
Sorry that my post sounds a bit shilly but companies that don't have spelling errors in their manuals and have responsive apps don't need to pay me to say such things. Honestly, I find that just those two things alone are pretty incredible in this day and age! Let alone a product that works well too. I'm glad I did months of research into this subject and settled with Levoit but I don't have a complete experience with this brand yet as I have only had them a few months. Plus my experience with other brands to compare is pretty nil, so take it as you will.

Unlike my Winix air purifiers I can turn off lighting and sound.
While the Levoit 600s has the best performance / price in the mid - large air purifier category, it seems like the brand recognition is poor or cheap / bland aesthetics.
On Slickdeals the Coway Airmega 400 @ $363 was very popular, but the Levoit 600s @ $209.99 only gets a few views even though it wins in most metrics.

did quick serach on 400 vs 600. lower noise on 400 but slightly better performance on 600.
i have 2 story house. upstairs, about 900 sq ft, 4 rooms. down mostly open 700 sq ft.
600 for down stairs, and 400 for my master bedroom? sound about right?
or if you have a better set up. do tell.
TIA
company is kinda dumb. if i order 1 thing, it gives me 30% off, if i have 3 items in cart, it gives me 0 discount
As far as sizing, the 400 requires 15" clearance on all sides and works best in the middle of the room for the reasons mentioned below. If space is tight, the vital 200 form factor is best but won't be as good. For sound, if you don't need the unit on 24/7, you can schedule the unit to be on when you're not in the bedroom and maybe before you go in at the end of the day.
But if folks want to know more about these units, these units are designed to be put in the middle of the room so essentially the unit can create a bubble of airflow or pressure that pushes the clean air to the ceiling, causing a turbulence to make dust fall down. It makes a subtle pressure on the walls which will cause the dust on the floor levels to go towards the middle of the room so the unit can collect the dust at the intake at the bottom. It filters the dust out and then pushes the clean air out the top, rinse and repeat.
Now, if you have a house HVAC system that has supply and return air devices in each room (with the air handler fan on), it might affect other rooms some. But the only way the clean air from the room the purifier unit is in will ever get to see your other rooms, is by going through your main HVAC fan unit with the return device features described above - which may or may not have some dust inside already and mitigates the clean air going in. However, the more you use the purifier units, the less it'll accumulate in your duct system, so there's that. It just won't be great for all rooms, because remember the purifier unit is meant to cause turbulence in the room it's in too, in order to capture the dust. If the unit is not in a room, it can't make the same effect. Air just won't go by itself from one room to another room where there's a turbulent air bubble in it. They definitely will help the rooms they are in though.
I used to be an airflow tester, so I don't have this information from them, just from what I've learned professionally and by researching and experiencing these units.

Maybe I'll get more 600s. Or clean out central ac and all the ducts

As far as the model, the 600 may be too big for most standard bedrooms, but it will be able to do the job quicker.
@cat_dad
As far as wildfire, I'm not sure how good it would be for real bad situations but for some smell or smoke it will help. There might be a smoke remover filter available for when it gets a little worse. I'm not sure if they're aftermarket or directly from the company.
