Had two of these. They both stopped connecting to wifi nightly. Not sure if it was the firmware or something with the google home software going downhill, but don't bother with this.

Around Christmas they had this on here NEW for $30 and I got one.
I have had sporadic WiFi issues. I don't know if I should blame my WiFi router, or this thing. There's times I'm lucky to get through a single song without a disconnect, there's times I can leave it on all day without a glitch.
I DO NOT like WiFi. Nearly everything in my house has a wire running to it. This and an Lenovo Alexa alarm clock on the far side of the house are the ONLY always-on Wireless devices and I would have them on a wire if I could. I'm in a free-standing single-family home in a cul-de-sac, I am NOT in an area of high WiFi saturation - probably on the mid-low end so saturation really isn't the issue.
My personal comment on this is:
Proceed with caution - it might suck at WiFi.
On another note:
I do have two WiFi routers in my home. I initially set it up on one to play with it, then moved it to the other so I could put it on the other side of the house.
My professional career is centered on working on weird devices. I built automation for the postal service, I supported satellites for gas stations, I got hired by NASA - for nearly 8 years - to work on weird stuff, and I work on weird stuff now for toll roads. My career is making weird stuff work.
I had to fiddle with this thing for a day to factory reset it. I tried to just use the Google Home app - it didn't work. Then I looked up how to factory reset it. Turns out there are multple "modes" this thing can be in, if it's not in the correct mode the factory reset instructions won't work. You have to make sure it's in normal operating mode THEN hold down the Mic button for 10 seconds. I'm not sure how to better explain it - it's been months since I jacked with it, but there's more than one operating mode and you have to make sure it's in the correct one. You'll figure it out if you fiddle with it enough. You can find forum posts where people have returned them to the factory over this mode issue. In fact the one you're about to buy might have just been in the wrong mode and someone was unable to factory reset it.
JBL is no help with this.
I think the "mode change" had to do with holding down the top button for a while and the factory reset was holding down the Mic button for 10 seconds. Good luck. My advice is to connect it to the WiFi network you want to use first, then never move it.
these work great. got 4 of them and two Link 300's in a google home speaker group and listen to them daily. all refurbs. occasionally have to reboot one. love them. great speaker at this price

Agreed, great for the price. Much better tone than the link portable and I don't actually use the portable as much as I thought I would.
