I agree, one post would have sufficed. One for each garbage product is ridiculous. If regular users can take the time to craft a well thought out post including multiple items under the same sale umbrella so can staff.
I've noticed a correlation between garbage "deals" and SD "staff".
Garbage deals ? Really ? Hmm, these lineman pliers alone, that single item is comparable to the HF "doyle" pliers at $20 and that's for one item. That's already less for the entire set to a SINGLE comparable plier, the rest is just gravy. How is this not a deal that's at least worthy of mentioning ? I mean, geez, what do you want, free ? Maybe for sellers to pay you to take it ? Ok, I get it, it isn't a deal for you unless they ship it for free then pay you to take it. For me though and maybe for a lot of other people, this really is a deal.

i didnt know there was a promotion page. i thought there was just a bunch of random stuff on sale. and i found it all randomly in my hunting...as a hobby. im not a deal hunter. and even then, there's nothing wrong with deal hunting a sale and posting the best stuff from that sale for community members to vote on so that the frontpage has all the best deals from site-wide or brand-wide sales. its like black friday...should i just post "black friday sale at walmart", or should i post the great deals within that sale? theres are a lot of products on that sale page that arent good deals. thats why slickdeals is so great, you can come here to find the best deals within a sale. unless a select few people want to downvote and prevent the rest of the community from learning about great deals on specific products within a wider sale (like this deal).

Wow, a lot of griping about this deal. Well, I gave it a TU because it is a good deal. Now that said, this appears to be a rebranded set of the same set that HFT sells for about $15 in-store normal price (ie - no shipping) and they place on sale from time to time for $10 (I bought a set so I can confirm).
Now, the HFT set comes with a lifetime guaranty, so at $10 I'd recommend the HFT set. The only problem is that the "normal" price is $15, and that's what they're selling for right now - and they don't include a case (or free shipping with Prime).
So, to each their own, but I think it's crazy to argue that this 5 pc set of tools with an included case isn't at least a good deal.

Mind linking me to that HFT set? I wasn't able to find an 8in set like this.
EDIT - hey, that link is now only pulling up a 3 pc 6 in set, but if the original deal was for a 5 pc 8 in set then I agree the one in your OP would be for larger size tools than the HFT 5 pc set. That said, I'm wondering if Amazon's description is accurate - 8 in long nose and 8 in slip joints are rather large. Most sets have varying sizes. Anywho, the link is now pulling up a 3 pc set at the same price.

Yeah, if they're all 8 in sized, then yes, it's definitely a different deal than the $15 HFT set that I linked in my reply. Also, the larger sizes (in the Amazon set) are typically more expensive. That said, I was actually referring to the fact that I purchased the HFT Pittsburgh set that I linked to in my last reply (at $10 on sale at HFT). Their HFT set has no case and comes in smaller sizes, so I definitely think your deal was a good deal and got a lot of unnecessary flack (partially proven by the fact it sold out so quick).
