Compared to walmart where you pay $27, don't have to buy two or file a rebate :-) https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mobil-...t/23636902 ...

The pennzoil full synth is a much better deal after rebate.

it is a not bad deal if you want something special like 0w16, 0w30, 0w40, but if you just want some common oil like 0w20, 5w20, 5w30. It is just a nothing special regular price.

35 * 2 = 70

70-25 = 45

45/2 = 22.5 + tax each.
this isn't a good deal.

Just get costco kirkland brand oil.
change it every 10k miles regardless anyway.
dont need to deal with rebates. its what 31 dollars + tax for costco
comes out to be 17 dollars per 5 gallon.

Why do these threads get crapped with people that have to announce that there are different brands... even generic that are less expensive? Cut and paste that response to every deal ever posted.

I would recommend changing your oil at 5k if you plan to keep your car past 100k miles.

This. I would usually be all over the M1 rebates but just stocked up on 8 jugs of the Costco stuff. Goodbye M1 and rebates, although I will say I never had an issue getting one.

A couple cars ago I had a mini (BMW made). OBDC said to change oil every appx. 20k. I changed every 10k using M1.

Sold the car at 194k with the original clutch, transmission, engine, etc.

Kirkland is fine but some vehicles require specific grades of synthetic oil. Many European cars require Euro formula as well and using something else voids the warranty. Usually, I can find Mobil1 for around $20-$25 for 5qt bottle which isn't that bad.

I just bought 5qt M1 0w40 at Amazon for $26 so it's not that great of a deal plus you have to deal with the rebate bs.

If you throw a generic statement out without a reference to testing samples at 5k and 10k miles, specifying mineral wear differences or findings, it seems random and uninformed. Having submitted samples of different oils at 5 and 10k myself, it showed differences between brands, negligible differences if any, in component wear. Your statement is based on what testing?
