I prefer the higher quality Islander Watch variants, but if you want the Real Deal Seiko this isn't a terrible price.

Is that Citizen a left-handed watch? As a right-handed person, using that crown while the watch is on my left hand sounds awful.

Quality and resale don't go hand in hand. Seiko has had some QC issues (but you get decent customer service). Mark at Islander is an enthusiast and yes, even though they are homage style pieces, they use saphire and good bracelets where Seiko does not in this price bracket.

Bought this one, then bought an Orient Kamasu II on amazon (AA08) which is a similar looking watch but with sapphire to compare. One, or none, will stay.

I'm looking forward to those as well. I have an SKX013 and 015 and really like the size. Unfortunately I'll probably never own an SKX017, but I might be able to settle for the orange variant of the new version vs a basically unicorn one from the 90s that was only released in the Philippines.
