Depends. Would you rather deal with ice maker problems or compressor problems?

I have the 3 door version of this fridge, for about 6 months now. My wife and I love it. Space is great, I love the water pitcher (you always have cold water on hand), and the 2 different types of ice in trays are awesome. Holds temp infinitely better than our old fridge. I have it set to 34 degrees and I've only had 1 thing freeze on me (lettuce right next to the vent at the top).

This is a great deal, I've been very happy with ours. The only issue is minor rattling noises and such.

I purchased the allstate warranty (unfortunately Citi warranty isn't available anymore), haven't had to use it so fingers crossed.

I'm in the market for a refrigerator, but I'm tired of researching and hearing about everyone's issues with these two brands.
The more I research, the more questions I get.
Although, I have to say, the least amount of problems I hear are from owners of Bosch.
But at almost 4k, they are way too pricey.
Anyway, I'll keep researching…

sorry this is slightly off topic since it's not about the highlighted fridge but i'm in the market for a new fridge and this video helped me write this because the fridge deals comment section kinda always turns into how each company is not reliable.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r...cesandjunk

his top recommendation is for ge fridges specifically the ones made in the use also goes into detail about what parts are prone to braking in fridges etc.
great info thank you

LG fridge owner here… my compressor died 8 months in. It was replaced under warranty and they tossed me $400 for the food. That being said, it been 6 years and she's still going strong.
One more datapoint - we own an LG and the compressor died a few months after the warranty expired. The tech did us a favor and was able to get us a discount on the repair cost. Still ended up costing us a good amount. And we lost a lot of money on spoiled food, and we were not offered a reimbursement for that loss.

A few months after the repair, the fridge started making intermittent very loud buzzing noises (sometimes loud enough to hear from other rooms). I called LG, sat on hold for an extended period, only to be told that the repair work they did for us is out of warranty, and they want $400 to come out to fix the noise.

YouTube videos from LG say to level the fridge to fix the noise. Tried that. Helped for a while, then the noise came back. Tried other things too, no luck so far.

Edit - that having been said, two family members own LGs (one of them has almost the identical model as ours), and they've had almost no problems. So, go figure.

The amount of issues our family has had with Samsung refrigerators is atrocious.
Out of 4 refrigerators all had ice maker problems, 2 had drawer issues, one had
compressor go out completely. I would never buy a Samsung again even if you did
pay me!
Yeah I'm actually looking for a new refrigerator precisely because the ice maker on the Samsung we have is such a pile of crap.

Which one would last longer and give us less issues — Samsung or LG
Both work fine, but I prefer Samsung. I've bought 3 different ones in the past 15 years. Only had one problem with the LED light corroding at the water dispenser after 7 or so years. It was pretty easy to fix myself. All three still work fine. Family has LG, some sort of sensor problem for the door light. Too sensitive and turns on if you talk too loudly in the room. We rented a place for a week vacation and their GE was constant problems with ice build up in the fridge and it broke the water dispenser in the door.

I'd just like to point out that those complaining about no *in door* ice maker haven't had a Samsung fridge. That's the best part about this unit. Mine and my parent's Sammy fridge both have a s#!t ice maker, but the fridge and freezer parts are very nice and 6 years old, going strong. I'd take this one without the ice if I was looking for a replacement.

Edit: there is an icemaker in the freezer which shouldn't fail like the in door one

how does it get 3 inches wider? 2 inches deeper and almost 7 inches taller?

Dimensions (WxDxH)38.25 in. x 36.25 in. x 76.75 in.
Dimensions - w/ hinges, handles & door (WxDxH)35.75 in. x 34.25 in. x 70 in.
Check the dimensions diagram again. The front door panel is slightly taller than the fridge. I have just enough clearance to open the rare cabinet doors above the fridge.

I am not sure if this was mentioned before.. but add a Hisense 55" Class - A65H Series - 4K UHD LED LCD TV.. total comes to $1420.. after $700 off
Thank you! I ended up cancelling my original order and placing an order on another account with both the TV and the Fridge since the cancellation looks like it will take 1-2 days to process.

Did you need to request a physical receipt in the warehouse for your Samsung offer to go through? I submitted my online receipt in the past for another fridge but I didn't hear back from Samsung after submitting my information.
