Imo- never buy a first generation apple product., always replaced with something much better during the second release cycle., support ends quickly for the first generation

With the upgrades to watch OS this year the fitness tracker metrics are finally up to par. I want this for swimming mostly but also like the GPS backtrack feature for when I get lost in the woods.

May i recommend purchasing on the Ocean strap. Alpine attracts dirt and grime quick. The Trail's Velcro is not as strong and peels easily.

Cellular, even without a monthly plan, can allow the watch to contact emergency services without a paired iPhone. A low probability case, but it's something Smilie

I have a Series 6 as well. Battery life is decent still, but I suddenly got three ginormous scratches across the watch face just this year. The kind that catches on a fingernail Frown Frown Frown Was pristine for years until 2023. Must be some sort of sneaky planned obsolescence lol

You're going to be waiting at least 2 more years. They have not yet downsized that machine to fit on wrist let alone in a package the size of a watch. Will take time.
