I've been using Kaspersky for years by stocking up on deals such as this one. Although Kaspersky makes no guarantees that keys will continue to be honored years later, I have successfully used a number of keys that were 3-4 years old. Just keep a list of them in the old passwords.txt file on your desktop and apply the next one from the list when the previous is about to expire. LMAO

As far as Russia goes, keep in mind several things:
  • Kaspersky has been consistently rated among the best security software for decades -- including by AV-TEST, AV-Comparatives, Consumer Reports, etc. People object to Kaspersky's country of origin, not the software's quality.
  • Most of the electronics we buy are made in China, a country that's FAR more into surreptitious surveillance, civil rights abuses, and controlling "private" corporations than Russia is, and supposedly just as close to war with the US. Yet we still give little thought to buying Chinese products that pose an even greater risk.
  • Most security companies, including McAfee and Norton/Symantec, are staffed by current/former intelligence officers. If you're in the US and worried about government surveillance, would you rather risk being spied on by the FBI, CIA, and NSA, which have significant influence over your life, or the Russian FSB with almost no influence? Unless you're a US intelligence officer, I'm guessing the latter is less concerning.
  • Kaspersky, for its part, did move its data centers and core infrastructure to Switzerland, as well as open numerous 'transparency centers' for world-wide oversight to mitigate the concerns regarding the Russian government.

You are right, but in US there is such thing as a law. US officer in most cases didn't sell your data in Darknet. In Russia easy, just read Meduza with translator how Eugene vice sold users data in Darknet, even Putin vice and cook data. He even blackmail Putin asking to pay him 1 million or he will publish all data. CIS countries are highly corrupt, most of the GRU/MIA/FSB officers just sell user data in Darknet. Because the salary is too low and no one control this shit in CIS.

Yes, the moved data centers to Switzerland, after US gov received a proof that Russian gov got and used US customers info. But every Russian intelligence or counterintelligence office can easily access American and other countries customers data in one-click by requesting data in simple SQL transaction. Not only ODR (officer of the current reserve), but every "silovik" according to Russian law (CORM 3 title).

Yep, Russians are very good IT, but don't be surprise when some crook officer sell your data in Darknet, including your credit card, SSN and other staff.

I don't pretend to be a computer expert by a long-shot, but I see absolutely no sense in inviting a Russian controlled or influenced product into my home or business. If there was even a .0001 percent chance this product was helping to support Putin and his cause, I would and will stay away. Do you think Putin is promoting or supporting anything that is even remotely connected to the free world?

There is no .0001 perfect chance, there is 100% chance. Yep, they transferred some servers abroad, but the main office is still in Moscow. IT staff sitting in Moscow who work with databases can easily access to any data, including US customers, even if the servers would be on Mars. You should just use simple transaction in database. And every Russian intelligence, counterintelligence agency or police can access to this data in one-click by CORM 3 law. It is law in Russia (government decree #743) and many other CIS countries, that you should give an access to "silovyk" according to CORM 3 title directly by installing special software.

Eugene Kaspersky himself studied and worked in 4th technical department of KGB. His vice Igor Chekunov came from GRU (military intelligence).

People in US is too naïve, trick with servers is named as "борьба нанайских мальчиков" by Russians syloviks.

There are MANY good alternatives to Kaspersky, including the free built-in Windows antivirus. So why take the risk of using Kaspersky which has Russian spyware risk. Various organizations (e.g., Twitter) and governments (USA, Germany, Italy, etc.) ban Kaspersky software from government computers because of Russia's long history of leaning on its companies to do Putin's bidding.

Imagine 10 bottles of water, some are free, some are paid, and one of the paid ones has a risk of being poison. Why would you pick that one? Use common sense.

The same people that use Kaspersky will complain when a problem arises concerning security and russia. people that don't make a simple effort to protect themselves deserve anything that comes their way. It's how the simple minded learn.

Will they have a sale on this again on amazon? Also if you have kaspersky total on your computer, this works correct? I notice every year they seem to make it the next year so as long as you have kaspersky total installed, that is okay?

Is the one on amazon with kaspersky total security 2024 the same as this?

Anyone know of any site that sells it for less than amazon since it isn't on sale?
