Not a slick deal! Anything that's $1 an oz is normally where you should by it. Sale pricing is anything better than that.

I just started making beef jerky and it always comes out great. It's very easy.

By any lean roast of meat. Cut it thin. Mix equal parts Worcestershire and soy for the marinade base. Add some kind of sugar like honey or brown sugar. Add whatever spices you like. Soak the strips for three hours, then put in an oven or dehydrator at 165F for about 2.5 hours or until your desired dryness is achieved.

The coupon also work with peppered and original and it is a little bit cheaper.

Almost $16 a pound isn't a particularly good price. It's decent with inflation but is a fairly typical price at Sam's Club for 1 pound. One benefit of this is being able to buy a couple different 8 oz packages.

The peppered is good for the price. Jack Links isn't my favorite, but jerky inflation is crazy right now, so I'll take what I can get.

How is this $6.70?

$11.18
- 25% coupon: -$2.80
- S&S: -$0.56

11.18 - 2.80 - 0.56 = $7.82 + tax

I experienced jerky inflation as a teen boy when high speed internet came of age

$6.70 price requires 5 S&S subs. This isn't how prices are usually listed on here.

Wow! You mean to tell me that Teriyaki, a sugar based sauce, has sugar in it?!

Seriously though, most people understand it has sugar. Sugar and salt are great preservatives utilized in most beef jerky recipes. The glycemic load of sugar is far decreased by including most proteins or fat.

Yep. I got in on this deal last time and while I think it's acceptably priced here, once I looked at the nutrition facts and realized just how much of the weight in these things is sugar it didn't seem like such a deal at all.

6g added sugar per 1 oz serving. 6 grams = almost 25% of 1 oz. This stuff is damn tasty, but little more than meat-flavored candy.

Bought it for a camping trip but think I'll stick to canned fish of my choice, then unsalted peanuts and dried fruit.

It's cheaper per ounce at my local Dollar Tree stores. Prefer the smaller packages from Dollar Tree as I finish them quickly enough to not have to worry about refrigerating the uneaten portion. It also helps with portion control because I will absolutely eat the whole package as this brand is delicious.

Doubt, unless your DT sells unusually large packs.

This is just under $1 per oz.

DT sells 0.625 oz packs for $1.25. The math is $2 per oz.
