I got this for $500 at TJMaxx last November. It is a work animal. I make my whole family Torani flavored cappuccino that I get cheaper at TJMaxx and Homegoods. I posted that deal, btw, but got thread crapped and walked away.
Just a fyi if you get an older version without a doser you can call Breville and they will send you a free one after you register. They needed the serial number and proof of purchase.
I've had this machine for over a year and recently picked up another for my parents. The 3 second instant heat-up is fantastic. However, the thermojet comes at the price of not being able to steam milk for very long. It has an auto-shutoff feature and if you like bigger milk drinks this may frustrate. The built-in grinder is certainly a step up from the Barista Express but is nowhere near on the level of a proper stepless grinder. There are internal burr settings you can change as well. No pressure guage on this machine but the shot timer is super helpful and you can adjust temp (I think it's 2 degrees per adjustment).
Make sure you take the time to dial in your machine for your particular coffee. Plenty of videos out there available. For my medium roast espresso blend from a local coffee shop, I have an internal burr setting of 4 with a grind of 08 for 15s (19g) and pull a 45g shot. I upgraded the basket to an IMS 20-22g and have a bottomless portafilter so I can feel pretentious and make an unnecessary mess whenever I don't WDT enough or am too hung over to tamp correctly. 10/10 recommend.
Also you should be back-flushing this machine daily (or whenever used). You can use the included cleaning disc or purchase a 54 mm blank for like $10.

Are you talking about the dose trimming tool? Or is this something different?
Edit: Nevermind, it's the Dose funnel and I didn't get it when I bought my machine last year. I will contact Breville to get one. Thank you

I got this last fall and agree with your assessment. However I'm curious about daily back-flushing, you're talking about without a cleaning tablet? My current workflow is to just run a blank after every shot for light rinsing, and then flush with tablet when the machine recommends it.

Yep run a single shot with the cleaning disc without a tablet. Let it go for 20 seconds then cancel the shot to back flush. Breville support has a YouTube video on it. Had no clue until I saw it either.
