A self emptying bin/dock seems like a necessity, it's hard to believe it took this long to become a baseline feature.

As well as lidar and mapping make robovacs functionally superior to the last generation.

There are a few out there on deals here that offer those features at this ~PP.

Can you give an example of the brand/model that will have these features and what is the slickest price point to expect below which it's no brainer to pull the trigger?
I'm in no rush to buy one of these but would like to know when I should just get it.

I have the Eufy 11S but was wondering if all the new tech is worth the upgrade for this unit. Any thoughts?

Ive had the 960 for 5 years never had any issues. Just replaced the battery and runs like it was new. Always amazes me how much dust it picks up after only a day or two

With new robots being released every year, I wouldn't be surprised if we see more robots which have lidar and a self emptying base included for below $200. I personally consider the Shark AI Ultra with mopping (AV2610wa/RV2610wa, likely more 2610 models with varying letters based on where they are sold) to be worth it when there's a listing for it at $200 or below as it has many of the features I'm looking for in a robot vacuum and mop 2 in 1. Shark's self emptying robots come with either a standard (30 day) or XL (45 to 60 day) capacity self emptying bases. I'd hope to see a listing which combines the 2 in 1 vacuum mop robot with the XL self emptying base. Some robots from different manufacturers use bags instead of a bagless design for capturing debris at the self emptying base. There's so much to consider for not only what you want to use the robot for but also how you want to maintain it with the different options on the market.

Self emptying sounds nice and all...but only marginally useful to me until they figure out how to remove long hair tangled in the brush rollers at the same time.

If I go 30 days between cleaning the brushes, it won't be picking up a thing by the end and if I'm not manually emptying the bin every day or two, I know I'm going to forget to check the brushes!

Not saying that isn't needed and wanted, however, does your normal vacuum clean the long hairs off itself too? Every time I change girlfriends I have to do a cleaning/cutting of the roller to be sure there's not any different colored hair haha

I have to do it every once and a while on my real vacuum (miele cannister), but I think the significantly higher suction causes most of the hairs to get pulled into the bag rather than stuck on the fast-moving brush.

But these robovacs have way less suction and instead rely a lot more on the brushes which then get clogged. I could cut the hair off the robo brush once a week or more...the miele only needs it every couple of months (different areas of the house, so not like the robovac is getting all the hair and leaving nothing for the miile)

I have not seen any self emptying vacuums with lidar for under even $200. If you can link to it, I'm ready to buy.

there are a couple models on Amazon, but questionable reviews.

Woot recently had the UR2500SR which comes with the non-XL (30 day rating) self emptying base for $160: https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/t/16595435

Love this model but if you have animals that have ever gone on your floor definitely get one with lidar capabilities.

The shark IQ claims to do that. I haven't personally used but watched some reviews where it supposedly works

How does this compare to the Wyze robot vacuum?
