i bought this same laptop from Best Buy 6 months ago.

Battery life is really bad, and as usual, there's a lot of junk wares to uninstall

the specs for the price seems pretty good.
not sure how the refurbs condition are. but from order refurbs from BBY previously. they come near new.

also to note
- touchscreen
- backlit keyboard
- usbc charging.
- glossy 90hz screen

I'll give it a shot. it's 14 days to return. I'll take a shot.

Seems like a really nice deal. Fits my needs and would buy if I didn't already have a fairly new laptop.

This is a great choice for anyone who can use 16GB of RAM. TB4 for expansion/docking pairs well with the more portable 14" form factor. 400-nit 90Hz screen is solid as well.

Personally, I'm looking for 32GB onboard or expandable memory given just how cheap sodimm DDR4 is nowadays, which is a shame given that everything else about this laptop is really attractive.

Why does this qualify as Lower End to you?

Check reviews especially refurbished from Bestbuy. It seems they screw up.

I ordered this one back in January for the same price. Came almost as new. Ended up returning it because a better deal came up on the Lenovo Slim X Pro. Otherwise it's a decent machine. i7-1260 does run hot and a bit noisy.

I think some people said they gave the wrong power adapter.

i have a slightly different model of this machine (the lenovo 7 slim pro x using the AMD chip, 14.5" 3k touch screen) , but the models are quite close and they're both good machines.

the screen is good, 8/10 imo. -- good colors, brightness, contrast, and resolution in a 16:10 form factor, but not gorgeous like the OLED zenbooks, or the best apple or matebook x pro screens). this screen is glossy and there is some glare/reflections in bright environments.

build quality is very solid. feels good and well-built. excellent trackpad. but nothing flashy, and while not heavy, it's not as light as some machines of the same size.

battery life is ok. prob 6 hours with the intel chip here of real world use.

the performance is going to be fast and zippy for both the AMD and the intel models, with the intel having somewhat better performance, and the AMD getting you an extra 1-1.5 hours of battery and with significantly better native graphics.

as long as you get a good refurbished unit, at this price, i think this is a very good deal.
