As mentioned above, aluminum has the upside of not rusting, which is one thing that can ruin outdoor chairs over time, and it's much lighter. I do have a couple steel chairs like these that are over 10 years old though, and they were mostly left out for their first few years.

Thanks OP, I need to pick a couple more chairs, and I like this style. Might not grab these but they're a good option.

Nice chair, but isn't really a deal as it's a normal price

Home Depot had some aluminum (aluminum lasts way longer than steel in my experience) frame sets a month or two ago. Hoping some of those come back in stock - Hampton Bay Riverbrook. Do they usually blow out some more patio furniture for Memorial Day?

Stackable vs foldable chairs for extra people during backyard parties and get togethers? What's better from all perspectives, ease of storage, portability, comfort in seating, sturdiness, lasting longer? Thanks and reps.

Thanks and repped. I'd take a look at the foldable chairs at Costco / Sam's Club as well. They seem to be popular as well.

Depends on what your storage situation is and how many you buy. The old strappy folding kind aren't very common anymore, but I think those are much more comfy sitting in for long periods of time. This kind tends to make you sit more upright.

Have had these chairs for a couple of years and recommend them if you don't need to stack. If you need/want to stack them (they do fit together nicely), I recommend putting some covering or padding on the metal parts. The paint has worn off badly where they rub together. Fine to use rag or newspaper if you are storing them inside, but not great for stacking where they will get rained on.

Looks like the ones I got from Aldi a couple years back. Have a broken weld on one. Might be a good replacement.

Any experience on the quality of these over Hampton Bay? Bought a Hampton Bay patio set (table and 4 chairs) a few years back and it was hands down the worst purchase I've made from Home Depot. Assembly wouldn't have been bad except half of the holes didn't line up well and a few of them wouldn't line up at all. Customer service was OK but seemed upset with me for wanting replacement parts for their shoddily made product.

I have had these same chairs from Home Depot that I got about 10 years ago. Recently 2 if them split at the sewn seam - not bad for 10 years if use. $2 a year.
