If you want to wash your car with foam the consistency of hot soup, buy this. If you want a nice thick shaving cream consistency of foam look into mjjc.

unfortunately, you get what you pay for with foam cannons. I have this and the review pictures are exactly what you can expect - runny soap

MJJC is the way to go for shaving cream consistency.

I got the Sooprinse from Amazon and I haven't been able to achieve the hot jizz consistency that seems to be the holy grail target for the internet but I am also too cheap to spend that much money for MJCC. I bought a cheap 1.1 orifice but it didn't change anything and honestly it looks the same as the orifice that came with the Sooprinse. Maybe there are better orifi out there. The other thing I don't know is if it is my soap dilution. I was like 10 to 1 or maybe even more like 12 to 1. Just for fun I should squirt in more soap next time to see if the shaving cream can be made

I'm not sure if people saying you have to get MJJC haven't tried swapping to a 1.1 orifice or if I've gotten lucky. I have one very similar to this and swapping to a 1.1 was night and day. I've used an MJJC and the only realistic difference was the cheaper once does leak a bit. MJJC is great, but you definitely don't have to spend that much just to get thick foam.

Soap dilution/soap choice matters as much or more than the right gun/orifice. There are plenty of cheap soaps that work extremely well though.

Ahhh okay. So I bought a gallon of the Superior Products Cherry Foam because I saw a lot of good reviews on it. And it was not too expensive. I will load up more soap and see whether I can get that thick lather. That said, beyond the nice look, what is the point of having inches of foam dripping off your car vs a layer of milky foam? Just using more soap right?

Honestly a foam cannon isn't all that entirely useful whether it's working perfectly or not. You will get the car just as clean(from my experience) with a good 2 bucket system. Foam cannons are fun though, and they're even funner when it's nice thick foam. At the end of the day you really just need some type of lubrication.

Yes I am coming to that conclusion as well. I think it does perhaps save a tiny bit of time as I can just foam up the car and then go rub everywhere with the wash mitt without as much back and forth with the bucket and by definition there are fewer spots where you are really just rubbing with mostly water. But I know some people think you can just foam, dwell and rinse and that doesn't do it

Lots of chat about foam consistency, but nobody's yet mentioned that the OP item has been $19.99 going alo the way back to 2019, with occasional dips below that, per 3c. This is just a regular price post, not a deal post.

Good to have comments to know if I'm missing a better hose or a better cannon or better soap? I've never used a foam cannon so I don't know the difference except to see pictures of thick foam vs milky runny foam.

Oh god all the "expert" internet mobile detailers come in here to explain foam. Just buy this if you need an alternative to the expensive junk out there. If you occasionally take your car to the mobile wash this will work out just fine for the money. I personally need the nozzles and the fact they are brass seems pretty fair.

Soap from a cannon is good for lubrication. Still need to do a contact wash.

1.1 orifice in these cheap cannons work well.

Agreed!

MJJC is overkill and too expensive to justify for weekend warriors / DIYers.

I've got an astro AI and griots foam cannons. Both work great with my electric pressure washer.

Love that we're seeing more detailing product deals on here.
