A word about sizing a dehumidifier: get the smallest one that can handle the area and amount of moisture. Keeping them running constantly will maintain the humidity level more consistently than a larger one that cycles on and off.

Having it running constantly also keeps the spinny bits in the compressor lubricated and at operating temperature. This helps lifespan. A lot of wear happens on startup when the compressor is cold and the lubricant hasn't had a chance to circulate. The smaller unit will use less power than a larger unit since the motor is smaller and it's avoiding a lot of startup current spikes to get the motor spinning.

I'm not a HVAC pro, just a cheapskate who researched the heck out of HVAC stuff to avoid costs on a major house system and stay comfortable.

Great price. Yet I did a search and unfortunately this model is plagued with an E9 error issue. It just shuts down and has issues extracting water. There are several bad reviews about it.

In for one! Thanks! Check your energy company website for rebates! My electric company is giving a $20 rebate due to this one having the Energy Star seal. Paid $80 plus tax for mine!

I filed a warranty claim for a Hisense dehumidifier that stopped working a couple years ago and the process was very smooth. They mailed me a refurbished unit but it has been performing great.

Someone, has a bad experience with every product. So if you happen to be the one in 3 million that has a bad experience, should we all stop buying it? Or are you one out of two people that sees a failure? The real question is what percent of people have a problem with it.

Mine had the 50 pint Hisense for a 4500sqft room for 179.99.

That was two weeks ago though.

Do all dehumidifiers blow out a lot of warm air while it's running? Got one for my basement but while running it in the summer time it makes the basement like a sauna
