Folks who own this, can you comment on the approximate run time for these machines on a 4 mah battery. I have heard the sanders eat up battery quite quickly. Thank you
I want to get into some light woodworking... I already picked up the orbital sander deal posted earlier today. is there any big benefit of having this as well? I do have the multi tool which includes sanders there. I should be fine between the orbital sander and the multi tool to skip on this one, right? (all the projects I have in mind are going to be pretty small in nature)
I have a DeWalt cordless orbital sander for 3 years and I recently picked this up in a combo deal. It has instantly became my Go To sander for initial work. The reason is weight. The DeWalt sander with 4AH battery weights quite a bit. This sander feels super light compared to DeWalt, especially paired with 2AH battery. I still use the orbital sander for finishing work but for sanding under 120 grit, I use this sander first.
PS. The downside of this sander is no dust correction. I use a portable fan to blow dust away as I work.

This one is more for fine finish where the orbital is more for removing product. I have a lot more uses for the orbital myself.

I bought the combo and used the orbital one so far. one thing to consider is if you use 40 grit vs 220 or so then you will find a big difference in battery life. As you know grit 40 or closer to that number is used to remove material and hence will eat up more battery vs using 220 grit for finishing. I used 4mah and with 220 grit I got decent battery life. If you have more than 1 battery 2-3 preferably than it should be good as you can charge while using these.
