If you enjoy space or scifi, the outer wilds is a must play. Best played cold as it's story is great.
I second this but you will need to love exploration and figuring things out.

Asterigos:is a solid fun game to play. Only that the hardware requirement is a bit high.
I played through it on Geforce Now in order not to stress out my PC. Very much enjoyed it.
If you have a higher end PC then you may not need Geforce now.

Only game I can kind of comment on is Evil Dead which is only supposed to be around 4-6 hours. To me $20 seems a little steep for that amount of playtime.

The game was given out free on Epic or GOG some time back, tried to play it a few times via the Steam Deck but couldn't get it to work through the Heroic Launcher. In theory launching natively through Steam it should function with much less tweaking. Looks fun, just not sure I'd ever pay for it even if $3.

Evil Dead is an online game, in the form of these other survival 4 on 1 or "dead by daylight" type of games. Not that exactly, but it could be played for many many hours, if you enjoy it. You constantly level up, get skills, and so do enemies. It's meant for replayability

Didn't know that, I was just aware of the single player campaign however now it makes sense why it is so short. But "campaign" can be quite the exaggeration for many of these online focused coop games which the campaign is just aimed at getting newbies' feed wet

Probably also explains why I can't get it to work on the Steam Deck, while the Heroic Launcher claims to support some anti-cheat programs, actually supporting them is a different story.

I will give my recommendation for Outer Wilds as well, I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. Asterigos is also pretty fun, although it's more of an easier Dark Souls type of game.

This. I know a few people who consider it the best game they've ever played. Anyone thinking about getting this game should heed the advice of playing it cold. The great story is the biggest part of what makes the game great. You don't want to research the game too much and spoil the story for yourself.

Outer Wilds is a magnificent game.
The worst thing about it is that I will never be able to play it for the first time again!

Outer Wilds goes for $10.84 on GameBillet, most recently from 4/17 to 4/24, and February before that. I was hoping Fanatical's 15% off coupon would work with it a few days ago, but it didn't.

That's how I feel about Return of the Obra Dinn. Someone somewhere who liked it suggested Outer Wilds (which I have yet to buy).
