Which one is better in performance or overall between this one and hp omen 17 if we ignore the screen size as I will mostly be connecting to a TV or a monitor. Both are at same price but this one is 1 TB SSD and omen is 512 GB.
I've been in the market for a laptop so have been following a lot of sales, this seems like a heck of a deal for a 3070Ti, and a 150W one at that.
That's what i thought but i don't know why this deal just have 1 like and HP Omen deal have 51 likes. I have no experience of gaming laptop so there must be something which i am missing.

They are running away from the seller but I never had any issue buying from him, and I already bought this one and it is an excellent deal, and if he offers another 50$ discount I will buy another one
Can anyone comment on how well this would run CAD and CATIA programs. My son is an engineering student and need a new laptop. The school recommends a DELL 5570 I7 32GB A2000.

this is a far better deal, the only thing it is missing is the 16 more gigs of ram which can be easily added for cheap.

Not so sure of that. I think the College is recommending a Workstation Graphics cards which comes with certified drivers for various professional apps and on top of that, if you're using any devices with the Professional card and have an technical issues in any of those certified software, you can actually reach out to them to get a solution and I think those may be important for an Engineering Student for official college work.
It is not like that RTX 3070 Ti can't do those, it actually can pretty well but the issue is, it will alwyas use nVidia Game drivers which are not designed for those professional apps and in case of any issues with the software, you won't get any official support.

3070 ti to run CAD? Wow!
This used to be a discussion back then like 10-15 years ago. You can run CAD programs with much much worse GPU and RAMs. Even onboard graphic cards are doing the work for me for last 4-5 years.
Buy a Ryzen sth laptop and your kid will get a slim, better battery life laptop.
