Nothing xenophobic here. Clearly the company is playing a marketing gimmick. And for the similar price why don't go with other popular brands? Who knows if the company still exists after 5 years.

A bunch of engineers from Sony's Japan division split off into a different company, then that company got bought.
This is just a statement of facts.
The fact that you're placing weight on it is 100% xenophobic.
Also, the company that bought it is PHISON. They make controllers for everyone, including Samsung. If they "aren't around in 5 years", good luck getting affordable NVME drives.
