An activation key IS NOT a license to use the product. The misconception is that if it activates, its good. Microsoft Professional Plus is not even a retail or OEM SKu. It was previous only available as an Open License Agreement. Profession is a retail adn OEM sku ....NOT PLUS. Noone is going to vome after an individual user (well, most likely not), a company--yup..One disgruntled employee filing a complaint with BSA (Business Software Alliance) will trigger an audit. You would have to show an Open License Agreement or the purchase of a perpetual license from a Cloud Services Provider. I've been a Microsoft Partner and reseller for almost 30 years. The license is like the title to a car. The car will run just fine without it andyou have the key...but if ownership is ever questioned --well then you have a problem. Office Professional OEM and Office Professional Retail are in the $400 range from any legitimate dealer. You might as well pay zero and get a key for free off the internet. The theory of I've gotten away with it before so it's okay -- is not rational. Speeding is still a crime even if you don't get caught 50 times. As far as prosecution by Microsoft...they are extremely corporate in their legal approach, I've seen them take 5 years to prosecute..of course in that time they had so much data--that the defendent was bankrupted by the fines. If you don't want to pay the price -- use Libreoffice, Openoffice, etc. 100% piracy or I'd buy 10000 of these and give Office for free with every computer we sell. C'mon people if you need to ask if this is legit -- you're not bright enough to use a computer...You know it's BS so don't lie to yourself.
Well I get what you're saying, there have been times a companies that I've worked at in which they would have some kind of special in which we could buy an office license for seriously like $10 or something. And I'm talking about professional Plus. Now it's been a long time but the past two times when I had this we simply paid for it and then they would email us the key directly from Microsoft. No account required.

I think a lot of people might forget that selling a copy of a software literally cost you nothing in reality, like sure office cost $150 to 500 but that's just what they sell it for, they could still sell a copy for like 5 or $10 and still make money.

I could totally see instances where maybe some company bought a crap ton of licenses and then maybe ended up not using them so it's almost like those stores like Ross and things where they get the stuff that doesn't sell and then sell it

Never had one of these keys stop working. Are these illegitimate keys, 99.999%. is MS selling an average user a 400.00 office software that will stop working correctly with the next OS update a scam? Of course. It's all relative.
I have no clue what are you talking about.
1. I said nothing about "OS updates" and scams.
2. MS selling their products and there is such thing as license agreement. If you have valid keys it doesn't means you are eligible to start reselling them to a third person.

Majority of people once they've used 365 prefer the value over baked software that doesn't get updates eventually and no other added value. 365 let's you install on windows or Mac and gives you more OneDrive storage.

Legitimate or not, people still can't figure out that you can't even use this if you already have 365 installed, lol? Even MS has software to uninstall whatever you use so you can then use 2021. Be sure to read the warnings on that it will erase whatever you do use, but I'm sure people won't, then blame it on an virus.

Seems kind of odd that MSFT allows these key selling websites like Stacksocial to go on year after year if they are doing something MSFT doesn't want them to do, maybe they've decided it's better to allow someone to use a gray copy of Office than to chase them away to using Google's office product.
Probably because they convinced so many corportations that M365 was the way to go. Then increase costs by 5-20% year over year.

In these types of posts, you can always tell who was the kid nobody liked in class that snitched on someone or reminded them that they forgot to assign homework right before class ended.
There is something to be said though when there are a ton of people who you'd think would be more in the know on this site who have or had before today no clue that the codes are grey market.
